This is day 2 of my summer break. 3 weeks of nothing but reading. 😁
August is also ARC challenge month.
Let's see how many I can knock off the 📚
#AugustARCs
#threethings make a post.
Thing 1 : Finished another ARC
Thing 2 : Started book 1 of a duology book 2 is the next ARC
Thing 3 : Reading with a sleepy cat
Sweet, funny. As good as book 1. Luc and Oliver are still growing together despite the wacky situations. So many weddings. The inner insecurities, friends and families all contribute to make their journey to happiness an entertaining read. ☂️
This was a Netgalley ARC.
Not helping my ARC 📚
But..but… they suggested it to me and I got in less than 5 minutes.
Husband Material is the perfect summer funny rom com.

Slim #weeklyforecast.
Booked on a feeling is slow burn friends to lovers at a snail pace. Not so good so far.
I did get Alexis Hall's upcoming sequel to Boyfriend material. It's coming out on August 2nd. Hence I need to either finish Booked or give up on it.

📕 These Violent Delights ( I have book 2 in my ARC 📚) Also keeps feeding my 🇨🇳 thing
Have good vacation @Cinfhen
Wishing us all time to read this week.
Started this one. Available on July 26.
So far, it's a good contemporary romance
#arc
The HFN YA I needed at this time. Light, funny with a pinch of teenaged angst. The leads are well rounded. I loved all the K-Pop settings. Not complacent and everything is great settings. I liked it a lot. Would love to read more from this author.

📚 still adorably cute, light. The book I need right now

📖 Once upon a K-pop
📚 Booked on a feeling
Goal : complete the 2021-2022 ARC pile
Next in the 📚
Also it feeds my adjacent unhealthy binge of C-Drama.
I liked the classic yet with a twist storyline. Both leads are interesting and loveable. I liked both of them, their bickering and more personal conversations. Both are resourceful and are used to get their way. The secondary characters start out slim but I found myself hoping that I will get to read Cecily‘s view and story, also Archie‘s and Aunt Dorothy‘s.
A good first novel.
I'm coming out of social network hibernation. 🤞🏻
This will be my 15 book read in January. The number of books I read last year. Feeling so much better and happy that reading is good again.
#hockey
Back to back game. Columbus and its cannon are already behind.
#hockey
Penguin hockey tonight. Way too cold outside.
#readingandwatchinghockey
Another « I'm late to the party » series. Read this during breakfast. I'm reading again. Finally. ?

Haven't read something this fast in well over a year.
Good : The plot. It keeps you reading. You want to know what happens next. There are no "dull" moments. The main characters are vivid, interesting and most of all for me, present. The world building is good. You slowly get the information as is Crane. Okay: The romance. I bought it. Still, it was quite fast and sudden. But that's me and it's knitpicking.
#romance
Two minds on this. This is the opening act of a very successful series. Ever more since the TV adaptation. It‘s very much of its time. Consent wasn‘t something even in the mind of the readers back in 2000. Not like now. I read the reviews before I got to the plot point that now sticks out like woah. More in the comments.

Afternoon hockey. Dallas ⭐️. Hoping to get to the 169 page mark needed for January 20th. I'm at 155.
#hockey
Back to back game. Last night win was fab. You would think teams would know not to piss off Sid. Anyway. Making progress on the Yourcenar. Tonight it‘s non fiction and Flyers.
#hockey
2022. New year. Still listening to hockey. ? lead the ? 6-2 after 2 periods.
My book for January is Yourcenar's Mémoires d'Hadrien. This is the impossible reading challenge from the French CBC.
Happy new year.

Hi… it's been a while. 2021 was… well.. all my spoons went to getting through each day one day at a time. 2021 is the year I read the least books ever. I'm at 13, hoping getting to 15 maybe.
I found 2021 harder than 2020. Work was intense, demanding and completely bonkers every single week. I come home and just sit and don't want to do nothing other than sit, listen to podcast or radio. Tv is not much.
I did finish the new Lady Sherlock. 🥰
Monday hockey. Quite welcome. My day was long and hectic. Adorably funny book so far.
#readingandwatchinghockey
Next one in the 📚. Such a beautiful cover. Netgalley ARC. Looks like lots of fun.
#netgalley. #romcom
It feels a lot like a first book. Lots of good ideas but the execution is lacking a bit. The pace of the plot felt off to me. It got going than stopped abruptly and lingered then got going again. I liked the main characters Marion and Bill I got a feel of them. What they wanted, what they were about. The secondary characters were more prop to the story then full fledged characters. #netgalley #mystery
Hockey night. Should finish this tonight.
#readingandlisteningtohockey
I passed the 75% mark. It feels a lot like a first book. Lots of good ideas but the execution is lacking a bit.
🐧 in Boston. They are on a losing streak when playing at the Garden. They are 0-10 since Sullivan became HC.
#readingandlisteningtohockey
Penguin's hockey. I'm almost at 60%. It's interesting but the slow pace is bugging me a little. Also my reading companion is adorable.
#readingandwatchinghockey
Hockey night. I'm at 50% on this ARC. It's interesting but has a lot of shades of Potter's universe. It's making me twitch.
Happy Friday.
#readingandwatchinghockey
Afternoon game. Against the Caps. I'm up to 30% and the plot is getting really interesting.
#readingandwatchinghockey
Friday night hockey. 🐧 💜
Sid and his hockey sticks https://twitter.com/penguins/status/1350209065780211712?s=21
My book is good too.
Perfect Friday.

Hockey is back!!! So is my #readingandwatchinghockey tag.
Hockey is back!!!
Steampunk thriller in the 1950s London. I'm starting on my ARC pile.
So far interesting.
Feel good historical cozy. Start with book 1 and enjoy the journey. Top 3 of my 2020 ARC.

Domestic noir at its very best. Small minds, small lives. The lives of people full of the scent of envy, greed, desperation on a small scale.
#12booksof2020. #domesticnoir
2020 was like deserted land with a few oasis along the way. Only an handful of books but good ones. All of them. Reading in 2020 was spare but rewarding all the same.
First #goodthing of 2021. Today, January 1 is Public Domain Day. A really good day for librarian, reader, writers...
Here are some of the books of 2021. You can read more at https://web.law.duke.edu/cspd/publicdomainday/2021/
I've already read a few of these. I'm putting the Agatha Christie on my 2021 list.
My yearly Vargas. Only this year since there aren't many left for me to read.
The plot is vintage Vargas where the journey to discovering the culprit is more important than the reveal.
#12booksof2020
We see, feel, almost smell the life in this basti where poverty, corruption, surviving are an everyday challenge through the eyes of the 9 years old narrator. The POV never varies. Not an easy read but a worthwhile one.
#12booksof2020
This book kept me reading at a time when it seems I couldn't. It broke my heart again, like the first book but I can't wait to read the last one. I love my gang of broken thieves.
Start with The Gilded Wolves then run with The Silvered Serpents.
