I know I've written about this before, but my friend's fantasy book The Path of Man is now free on Amazon for a few weeks! Earlier today it hit #18 in "Metaphysical and Visionary" ebooks and #41 in Fantasy Epics! Pick it up now

If you have Kindle Unlimited (or want to do the free trial) look up The Path of Man, the first in a fantasy trilogy. A friend of mine wrote and self-published it and it will be free for the next few weeks!

I admit that I got this purely based on the beautiful cover, but since it's marketed as a 1920s Westing Game-type mystery, I'm intrigued!

Kind of review of all three: I enjoyed them all; the 1st for the hidden identities, the 2nd for Lia's Khaleesi-like embrace of a "barbarian" nation. This final book was satisfying in some ways and disappointing in others, but overall it's a fun series. And Lia is a princess/queen I can get behind a lot more than other YA heroines.

I can't believe I haven't read this before! Now one of my favorites as it combines many things I love: Dumas-style battles, Austen-style gentlemen & women, Goldman-style false history & footnotes, fairytales, and magic!

Ok, I want to get my thoughts on this out there since there are very mixed reactions! I understand why Jo had this done as a play because it reads much more as an experiment- a hypothetical situation to examine what Harry's relationship might be to a son he doesn't really understand. If you go into it expecting "the 8th book" you won't like it, but as a fun, sideways jaunt it's enjoyable. What did you think?

Yournewfriendsams Great review! I think I was expecting book 8 and that's why I'm disappointed 😕 8y

I LOVED Lady Midnight, even more than I was expecting to as a longtime Clare fan. This series opener seemed more mature than earlier books of hers, but def kept the trademark snark and romance. Check out a longer review on my site! http://bit.ly/2alWn3F

This sequel was just as good as the first, with beautiful language, an enchanting love story, and a plot that didn't fall victim to many YA tropes. Characters learned from their mistakes, secrets were shared, not used as unnecessary drama, and the villains weren't always who you expected.

Here I am today reading Robert Galbraith's The Silkworm, only to find out it's the 19th anniversary of the day The Philosopher's/Sorcerer's Stone was published! I love this new illustrated version and am so glad I bought it, and am thankful for all the wonderful stories Jo gives us.

Not sure how to feel about this one...I enjoyed reading it, and the parallels to Robespierre and the French Revolution, but the world building was a little confusing. Still a good standalone to read though, if you're not wanting to get into a whole new series.
