This turned out to be such a cute read! I'm normally not about love stories, but this one was really nice and wholesome to me, with the added magic and amazing settings. I'm really glad this got me out of a streak of less than amazing books.

I was able to get one more book read in February. This is definitely my favorite series of the year that I‘ve read!

This is a duology, so only 2 books to read, which I think is my new favorite way to read series! But it also means there are no more books in this world. Apparently there are 3 short stories that I need to find!

I loved Shazi and Khalid‘s journey, their story and their love for each other. 💚💚💚

My latest library book haul. My husband judges me every time I walk out of the library and he‘s sitting in the car. He just doesn‘t understand and says I have plenty of books at home.

I already started reading the tagged book, even though I should be reading Into the Night or The Kingdom of Copper because they are both due 3/12. 🤦‍♀️😬🤦‍♀️😬

I‘m glad I continued with this series, because I truly enjoyed this 2nd book, and the ending to the story. I felt Renée Ahdieh did a fantastic job keeping the feel of the original Arabian Nights while making the story her own.

Wow! I could not put this book down. It‘s been awhile since I enjoyed a YA fantasy love story. This duology didn‘t over do the love and make it cheesy. I loved the magic and setting of it and the characters written.

Such a great end to a magical story.

I saw this tag earlier and couldn't help myself from posting on it! #PetsAndPaperbacks

1. Minion (aka The Destroyer of Book Covers)
2. He turns 5 this summer!
3. Whenever he is in a playful mood, you get to see him literally running through the walls in the house and it is both: the funniest and the weirdest thing ever! 😂
4. I don't know who to tag, but feel free to do your own and share your beautiful pets!

HotMessJess Uh oh, how many books has this minion destroyed?! 2y
leevereads @HotMessJess So far, my Minion of darkness has only destroyed the cover of "Now I Rise" by Kiersten White—but that's just because I have managed to snatch away the other ones in time before destruction ? 2y

Very fun! Adieh writes a beautiful and believable love story between Khalid and Shahrzad in which I became very invested. I did think the ending was rather weak—everyone turned out to be nice and get along, and only one semi-minor good guy died. Was looking forward to a big battle, and had been optimistic about the familial betrayals that were developed midway through the book. Still fun overall and definitely want to read other things by her too!

RaimeyGallant Sounds intriguing. :) 2y

Read the wrath and the dawn a couple weeks ago, starting it‘s sequel today ☺️ can‘t wait to see how it turns out. Has anyone read this series?

Kati15 I absolutely loved and enjoyed this duologie. It is one of my all time favorite duologies that I have read in 2017. 2y
InsomniacGhuleh One of my favorite things about this series is that it's a duology instead of a trilogy. That in itself is refreshing. I also just really enjoyed this series. Have you read her other book? Flame in the Mist? It's pretty amazing and I highly recommend it. 2y

No matter how much I loved the writing and how much I love Shazi and Khalid, I couldn't help feeling like the majority of this book wasn't of much relevance to the plot. Some parts were rather suspenseful and added a lot of insight, but others didn't really seem to serve a clear purpose. Overall, I did really enjoy this book, but The Wrath & the Dawn was definitely better!

I had a hard time getting into this, and rather wish I had read the two stories back to back so I could remember all the threads from the first book. Despite the fact that I found the pacing a little off, I still really enjoyed the book once I got past the beginning and the story picked up.

I think this novel should be titled "You Can't Lead an Army Against a Neighboring Kingdom Just Because the Queen Friendzoned You." It could also be called "Why Hormonal Teenagers Shouldn't Be Allowed to Make Important Decisions That Affect the Whole Kingdom."

Liatrek Hilarious! That would make a great prompt What should a books real title be? 2y
