Beautiful pieces of writing… but poorly strung together.
I‘d try another book by Percival Everett, so pls feel free to drop recommendations in the comments 😬

I‘m still at the beginning and it‘s slow, but I‘m plowing along. Can anyone tell me if this picks up? 😬😬
Finished Part I. Like everything the Obamas do- it is absolutely inspiring!
New year, new goals! 🥳
Great read! Glad I was able to squeeze it in before the year is up :)
Not exactly top notch... but this was a fun read and I enjoyed it! 😁

Hoping to finish Mansfield Park while eating this tofu-tahini salad for lunch tomorrow :)
Enjoying my Sunday espresso and listening to this children‘s classic on audio! 😊
A charming tale full of references to literature, art and music... The ending was unexpected, but I enjoyed reading all the 500-ish pages!
Good morning fellow readers! I‘m sneaking in a few pages while my vegan frittata cooks 😊😊
“And that is when I saw the boat.”
I think I‘ve gotten sucked in! ☺️
I had such a cozy morning hearing a podcast discussing this book :) I last read it when I was 16, and still it all came back very easily!
Cheers to taking back the English language! This book was nice on audio- but you need headphones 😂
“Spicy grove, cinnamon tree,
What is Africa to me?”
- Countee Cullen
The story was very slow in the beginning, but somehow I got pulled into it eventually 🤓
Read a few chapters after my evening run yesterday! 😊 #pemberlittens
“... and then one blissful day, I was hired as the first Negro on the San Francisco streetcars.”
She‘s really a master wordsmith! Loved this book.
Welcome home Jane 😀
Got these for an Austen marathon that I‘m doing with my best friend!
What did you think of this one?
🤘
Sinister setting, menacing characters, over-the-top wedding- it was a fun mystery read. A nice break from my usual TBR.
READ THIS (if you haven‘t already) is all I can say about Educated by Tara Westover 🤓
Good morning y‘all! We had AC installed yesterday, and woke up to a chilly 58degF windy morning 🤦♀️ Def some spirits at work here! 😜
Still can‘t believe I read the whole thing 🙈
Quick one day read. Nice writing but the storyline was not too fresh 🤷♀️
A wonderful and endearing read... I laughed, cried, and enjoyed myself! ~600 pages didn't feel long at all.
Pic: drawing of some herbs I have managed to keep alive :)
I was very excited for this book due to the theme of trees! But it had many storylines and not all of them were good. I can see why it has mixed reviews 🤷♀️

Happy Friday everyone! I‘m 100 pgs into this book and hoping to make more progress over the weekend :)
Beautiful prose! But there were SO MANY things I had to look up. Couldn‘t make the most of this book. Oh well! 😬
Ten pages in and I can already tell it‘s a great book!
Having iced coffee and these home-baked vegan chocolate cookies 😋
I‘ve done a lot of heavy reading this quarantine. Now thinking of kicking off the summer with a light and fun read. This one has mixed reviews... anyone care to comment? 😬
Bookish breakfast! And looking forward to weekend reading 🙌
A fantastic book! And it was an easy read, no need to be intimidated... I‘d highly recommend this Pevear & Volokhonsky translation!
A nice read, well-timed with my recent efforts to be more plant-based! 😊
Birthday gifts still rolling in 😂😂
Another book done!- This one a webb of tales told in lyrical ‘beat‘ style.
