Curious Scotland: Tales from a Hidden History | George Rosie

We had quite a mixture of places and genres for our Travel/World reading theme this month for #LitsyATXReadersSociety. Almost everyone read multiple books, so I guess this was a popular theme! What a terrific discussion, I very much enjoyed it!

It was hard to capture in a photo - but we travelled 25 miles on a single track lane, through mountains and skirting lochs, not seeing another car in order to visit Scotland‘s most remote bookshop! This is what holidays are made of! I 🖤 my husbands patience!!🤣

Cathythoughts This sounds an amazing spot. Still never been to Scotland... I definitely want to go next time with my husband ( he goes there a fair bit ) ... you get to some lovely places 👍🏻❤️ 6y

I don‘t have much family, and the only place I‘ve ever felt truly at home was in Scotland. Alabama is a long way from the place I really consider my home. I‘d give anything to be there right now.💚(this pic was taken from the backside of the cottage we stayed in...)

LitLogophile I resonate with this a lot. I don‘t have very much family at all and I currently live in Kentucky, but the places that make me feel at home are close to my ❤️ 6y

JazzFeathers I find it quite easy to have an obsession with Scotland. Beside, l might also have an obsession with Ireland. Sometimes l wonder who the hell l was in another life 🤔😆 7y

Andrew65 I have to admit I love reading mystery or crime books set in Scotland, especially on the many islands. Thoroughly recommend The Lewis Trilogy by Peter May and The Shetland Series by Ann Cleeves. I don't live in Scotland but spend long periods there in the Summer so this may be an #obsession for me too! 7y
