batsy @Suet624 Yes, thanks! Pre-pandemic Thrift Books and Better World were viable options but right after, the shipping costs to MY were double to triple the cost of the book. Haven't had a look recently, though. 12mo

Littens help! I'm trying to talk myself out of buying this (or into it, whichever). I have a nook, but not the tablet, but it's on the fritz and I haven't had great luck with them anyway. I'd really like an iPad but can't exactly afford it at the moment. This would probably get me through until I can get one. Pros? Cons?

britt_brooke I'd jump on it for that price! I had a Fire back when they first came out and was $299, I think. I couldn't get used to the Android operating system (I'm hopelessly an Apple girl) so I eventually sold it, but if that's no issue, I'd snatch it up! 7y

LauraBeth I don't have a fire but have looked at them (I only have an iPad bc my hubby is a Mac engineer). I'd say that for the price - that would be a good tablet (if you wanted something to hold you over until you got an iPad) 7y

Reviewsbylola I have that one for my kids. Personally, having had two kindles myself, I won't buy another one that isn't backlit. I only read ebooks in bed so I currently read on my phone. 7y

Bookladylinda I'm not sure if you purchased this Kindle Fire but I wanted to throw something out there to you since you love Nook - as do I, was not that excited over the Samsung Nook but B&N is selling a new Nook this year - I think it is in stores now and it is also $49.00 7y

I don't have great luck with them. My last nook I replaced 3 times because they kept overheating. Going to give kindle a shot this time around. 7y

CocoReads Thank you. I originally picked nook over kindle because if there were problems I could just deal with my local b&n folks. The nook hd is the one that I had so many problems with. But honestly, I have weird chemistry with electronics. Even with taking great care of them, they tend to die on me. Which is why I always but the protection plan! 7y
