Does anyone have any suggestions on pregnancy books OTHER than What to Expect? I‘m more than a little overwhelmed so far lol.

How is everyone doing on their reading goal for the year?

I‘ve been away for so long! I have enjoyed my self imposed ban from social media, but I‘m adding back some more bookish apps because I miss the community. Since then, I‘ve discovered Sonali Dev, who I‘ve decided I adore. I have a weakness for Jane Austen retellings. This one wasn‘t my favorite, but it was very well done and I really enjoyed it.

This is one book I wish I could go back and reread for the first time again. Loved it soooooo much. 💚

I‘m part of a Jane Austen book club on Facebook, and this month is Emma. I have always been a Mr. Darcy fan from P&P, but I think Mr. Knightley may take the top spot in Austen men!

I am so far behind in my reading goal for the year! I read so many heavy books in a row and needed a break... back at it now with this one.

Favorite audiobooks: go! I prefer fiction, but I‘m game to try anything. I have two free credits with audible and want to give it a shot. Thanks!

Thoughts on Alias Grace? No spoilers; just a general opinion! Starting it today. Margaret Atwood is amazing but always leaves me a little unsettled... which I‘m sure is her goal.

This has taken a while to suck me in... I‘m getting there.

This book was hilarious!! It dealt with the confusion of coming out from an adult standpoint, which I enjoyed, and the characters were wonderful. I laughed out loud at so many parts. It was wonderful.

This book BROKE me. And I would do it again in an instant. I normally do not enjoy books that jump between points of view.... I‘m so glad I didn‘t let that deter me from reading this. One of the most inspiring and thoughtful books I‘ve read in a long time. Don‘t read it in public if you‘re not prepared for ugly crying.

First book on my 2018 Reading Challenge: a book that you‘ve seen the movie for. I watched this movie years ago and downloaded the book, but never got around to starting it.

So since my most recent promotion (general manager of my office, yay!!), I have ZERO TIME to read. Since its not something I'm willing to give up, I thought I'd give audio books a go. My library has a decent selection, and I had to invest in a CD player but I'm hoping listening while I'm cooking/cleaning/whatever will work out. 📚🤞

Boyfriend: I wish I liked anything as much as you like books.

Fall is arriving early in east Tennessee, and this girl is ready! Beef stew, this book, and a sweet note for a bookmark while 'You've Got Mail' plays in the background... I'm quite pleased with this scenario.

I was warned. My friend asked me what I was reading two weeks ago.

I'm finished. And I'm completely and utterly devastated. This was not a "bring along on your vacation" book, but it was amazing from beginning to end.

Also, when #michaelcunningham reviews the book and calls it a "heartbreaker," you really have no one to blame but yourself for your tears when you read it anyway lol.

Decisions, decisions... Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, or Emma?

Now my promotion at work is official... I'm part of my district managers "leadership book club" lol. ?

I was just promoted at work after working towards it for a year! I'm finding some of the advice in here invaluable.

I'm so bummed out! My best friend was offered a job in an office an hour and 10 minutes away. Consequently, this opened up a promotion for me, as well as increasing his salary considerably. But I'm trying to convince him not to move just to shorten the commute.... I need audio book suggestions to help make his ride more bearable! Help lol! #audiobook #recommendations

It took me one and a half lunch breaks to finish this, and I loved it. It's not the straight terror you get sometimes with Stephen King, but the metaphors throughout the book are amazing and I loved the main character of Gwendy. King never fails to impress me, and I was thrilled with this novella.

I went with "pick" for this book because the writing was beautiful and I loved the characters. They were flawed and interesting and deeper than you'd expect in a book with so many main characters. That being said, I didn't care much at all for the ending. It just seemed strange and abrupt to me. Overall though , I really did enjoy the story. ?

"Martin smiled and swivelled to look at her. In the dim light of the computer screen he seemed otherworldly; Julia thought him beautiful, though she knew it was the beauty of damage."

This book is GORGEOUS. A bit depressing, as not a single good thing has really happened yet, but it's just so beautiful that I don't mind.

How was I not aware that F. Scott Fitzgerald wrote this?? Have I been living under a rock?? So excited.

My library trip... a couple books I've been meaning to try and my favorite book for a reread.

Day 1 of my whole 30 month. I made myself garlic pork loin with green beans for lunch, and I'm starting a new book. Loved The Time Traveler's Wife, I'm excited! I've waited all day for lunch break. 😄

What do you do when you're at the beach and it won't stop raining? Work on your TBR list and update your reading journal, of course. (I think you do that at the beach even if it's NOT raining.)
