This was a pan for me because of the lack of images (Libby never has the accompanying images etc…) things got easily confusing. I look forward to finding more Anishinaabeg stories.

A great intro page, on gender neutrality / fluidity, in aboriginal stories. 🍁🐺💝
I enjoyed the Anishinaabeg stories, written in educational parts within the language and words; reference notes at the end of each story. Switching at times between gender description is a neat unspecified way of storytelling; Nanabush as the human or ancestor spirit. As a children's book, it comes with fables of respect for nature's ecosystems; also, goofy humours on trying the animal ways. Reading in winter traditions was gratefully honoured. 🦌
I managed to check out The Gift Is In The Making, as I was reading at times in the library; all assured to continue through! 🍁
I was looking to continue reading The Gift Is In The Making today, which had been checked-out. I'll keep watch for it again, within the traditional winter timeframe; sure to last a while here in Georgina, Ontario. ❄
Bat illustration, from 'The Gift is in the Making', noticed today at the library. By the Northern Ontario honours of sharing in Native wisdom, I'll be revisiting again throughout January; winter is mentioned as the traditional time for storytelling.
