This was the prequel to Rogue One. It was good. I especially liked the friction between Krennic and Tarkin 😸

The must-have prequel novel to Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - the upcoming film, set before the events of Star Wars: A New Hope, that reveals the untold story of the rebel effort to steal the plans to the Death Star!
I enjoyed all the background information about Jyns family in this one. Especially her mother has a big part, one gets to know her a lot better than in the movie. There are also parts about the mysterious chrystals used by the Jedi. When it comes to learning more about the Star Wars universe this book is a great read.
Sadly, the story could have used a little more speed. Everything just happens and happens and then the book is over...
Finally sitting down with my Star Wars books this week 😅 I really liked this one, it added some much needed backstory on the Erso family and Krennic. I know Luceno has a somewhat dry style but I love how utterly Imperial it feels. It just matches up so well for stories that are heavy on people like Tarkin.
On to the next book for #starwarsbuddyread
This great little short story was included at the end of the kindle version of Catalyst.
About the Empire‘s takeover of the media, and sending top reporters to cover vapid Imperial Balls for the populace including what everyone is wearing and who their designers are...and one reporter‘s decision to try to include a bit more in the stories she‘s assigned. It‘s also a great story about how important quiet resistance can be.
#StarWarsBuddyRead
I really appreciated this one more on a my second reading. Seeing how good people can be trapped by very bad circumstances, and how government overreach and outright despicable behavior can start hidden in plan sight until it‘s too overwhelming to imagine how you missed it.
#StarWarsBuddyRead
“If we can persuade enough people to start kicking dirt...”
“Eventually we bury them.”
#StarWarsBuddyRead
I‘m enjoying this background on Saw in this one.
#StarWarsBuddyRead
It so nice to get little glimpses of Galen and Lyra when, even when things were bad, before they were terrible, and I love how this book shows how good people can be trapped by very bad circumstances.

Getting ready to start Catalyst for this month‘s #StarWarsBuddyRead
How‘s everyone else doing? Have your Library holds come in? Have you read this one already? It‘s a re-read for me, but one I‘m looking forward to now that I know more of the story.
The #starwarsbuddyread group's new read for the month is Catalyst! It's the start of our Rogue One mini-trilogy set for the next three months.
I hope everyone enjoyed Ahsoka last month! Will any of you new to her character try out the Clone Wars cartoon to see more of her?
How are we doing ladies and gentleman? Did you enjoy Ahsoka? I did and it was my first time reading it!
Are you ready for our Rogue One mini trilogy? Catalyst is up next! It‘s a re-read for me, and I‘m looking forward to diving into it again.
#StarWarsBuddyRead
Domestic Ersos are great and I totally stan Lyra now but MY GOD there is waaaaayyyy too much techno babble
I love the parallels between Solo-Organa domestic life and Erso domestic life 🙌
#TBRtemptation post 4! In the official Star Wars canon of books. Orson Krennic, a member of Palpatine's secret Death Star project, hears that his old friend, Galen Erso, has produced amazing energy-focused researched. After saving the Erso family from separatists, they're in Orson's debt. What they don't realize is what Orson and his boss will do with Galen's eventually successful work. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
#5movies I can watch over and over
1. Star Wars movies (there are 8, but I'm counting as 1) We are a little obsessed with Star Wars. Yes we even have the original trilogy on VHS.
2. Jurassic Park (even though it is not true to the book)
3. You've Got Mail
4. Remember the Titans
5. The Notebook
3/5 stars. Don't get me wrong. It's good. Check out my full review on GR and my blog for why I DNFed a good book! 💁🏼

I have a new theme! ✨👌🏻 I'm feeling the call of autumn now (my favourite season) so I'm making my autumn winter theme early. 💁🏼I'm also just under halfway through Catalyst and whilst it's good, I feel somewhat let down because it's not engaging me like I think it would have if I'd read this BEFORE Rogue One. #scifi #sciencefiction #starwars #booklover #epicreads #bibliophile #book #bookblogger #books
We're spending the day (again!) at dads house and I've stolen the comfy chair again for my reading sanctuary. Dad and baby are sprawled on the sofa colouring and watching paw patrol so I figure, let's go to a galaxy far far away 💁🏼#scifi #sciencefiction #starwars #epicreads #bibliophile #booklover #bookblogger #bookstagram #book #currentread
I've been looking into why some people love to read and others avoid it like the plague! I'd like to hear your thoughts on this so please check out my latest blog post and let me know!

Living for coffee and catalyst this morning. Making a little headway with my book slump and managed to write a new blog post! All kinds of fun! What're you currently reading? 💁🏼☕️🌱#scifi #starwars #sciencefiction #booklover #bookblogger #bibliophile #bookstagram #currentread
I am stuck in a majooorrrr book slump and my soul yearns for sci-fi. Now, me and sci-fi go waaayyy back! We've had a pretty good and stable relationship but sometimes I get obsessed and clingy and sci-fi tells me to sit back and go see other genres from time to time. The last time this happened was about 1-2 months ago so we can hook back up right? 💁🏼👏#sciencefiction #scifi #starwars #epicreads #booklover #bibliophile #bookblogger #bookstagram
Another TBR...
Wondering how new this platform for bookish people is? I discovered it today and have been trying to figure it out. Pretty interesting set up!
My brother recommended this to me as a place of entry into Star Wars books. Great place to start! I'm hooked. #MayBookFlowers #FarFlung
This was a great audiobook listen. Great narrator with plenty of dialogue and lots of background sound effects! This story is the background to Rogue One.
While it had some interesting parts, ultimately, it was kinda boring. I'd recommend Bloodline instead
Not my favorite of the new Star Wars books (that still goes to Bloodline), but still a good story if you are interested in the backstory before Rogue One. How did Galen ever become involved with Orson Krennic and the Empire to begin with, what was their relationship with him before we saw them at the beginning of Rogue One. A very interesting backstory that takes place right as the Empire emerges from the disillusion of the Republic.
My catch-up series and other books on my TBR list for this month.... so far 2 down (+2 comics that weren't even on my list...yes, I get distracted by comics occasionally), and 4 in progress. Catalyst will probably be finished by tomorrow (the library would like it back soon).😉 #BookishProblems #TBRTuesday!
Finally finished this. The last third of the book is super fast-paced and exciting, and I couldn't really predict how it was going to end. Great storytelling - simple tells for who was a "good guy" vs "bad guy" (people who showed basic respect for the baby in the story vs people who regarded her with total distaste, refusing to even use her name). Now I need to see the movie.
Sunday mornings are for tea and books. @bookriot #RiotGrams day 12 - outside.
Day 6 @bookriot #RiotGrams - current read. I am a book polygamist, but I wanted to share a fun pic of just one current read. :) #starwars
I have a confession to make. I squeezed one last book into January. The book is Catalyst by James Luceno, which I listened to on audio. I really enjoy Star Wars audiobooks because the high production values make them a pleasure to listen to. That said, the stories are always so-so and I rarely finish them. I'd say I really enjoyed the first 75% of Catalyst before the story tapered off, but those production values! That's how audiobooks should be!
This Audio book was on point!!!! Great Narrator and the sound effects? Excellent! Now the story meh it was kinda dry. It had good information, I'll recommend this for super fans that need more info for Rouge one. Which was an excellent movie btw! So pick for me but not everyone!
Loved this book. The interplay between Tarkin and Krennic was quite good. Nice set up for Rogue One.
Early lunch and Star Wars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Finally crossed 1000 litfluence!
I'd celebrate harder but green tea and Catalyst will do for now 😁👌
Prepare for a book purge from me: it has been too long and I have been reading! Up first: Catalyst. If you have seen Rogue One or plan to ever see it, read this right now. Great backstory on Jyn's parents and their connection to Krennic. My husband and I caught so much in the movie that we only understood because of this book.
