Merry Christmas Littens. Watching 24 hours of A Christmas Story while waiting for the kids (who are actually adults) to wake up.

That wrapping paper 😍🐶 and I need to say I love it all, but that Jack Skeleton ornament is my fav! You are truly a wonderful pen pal and I look forward to penpalling in the new year with you! My mother bought this one for me for Christmas 2016, and it's just as adorable as The Secret Life of Squirrels. It might not be Christmas, but these guys are having a pretty merry day. (There are currently eight of them, I just can't get them all in one shot!)

Weird seasonal timing, I know, but it's always Christmas at my house. I love that the author makes and arranges tiny props and documents her local squirrels investigating them and then uses the photos to create a story. This would be a great prompt for a lesson on creating a story by selecting and sequencing images, then adding text. Gah, I miss teaching. #mommyreads #ebook #picturebook #lessonplanning #teaching
