Penny has the worst luck and it gets her and others into trouble. Penny moves into her friend's storage unit since she can‘t afford a real apartment. But even living in a storage unit is still troublesome, especially when she falls in love. What starts out as a con to get a free shower at a gym, becomes friends and more. This story was a nice change of pace. I wish it was in full color but that did not inhibit any part of this read.

Have spoken to this before, but I feel like this is what you'd get if Scott Pilgrim starred @Liberty .
Awww I loved the D&D references LOL! & how much Penny and Walter remind me of when my husband and I met in college. 😭💕 I can relate to Penny and her luck on so many levels. @onipress
This story is so cute. A nice, fluffy, something different kind of read. Thanks @AMVP for suggesting it!
Johnny Wander has been one of my favorite webcomics since college. This graphic novelized collection works really well, like a less angsty Scott Pilgrim with a way more likable protagonist.
It's a very sweet book and one I enjoyed a lot.
Looking forward to this photo challenge
Please share and repost!!!! It‘s going to be magical!! 📚💚☘️ 🧙♀️ 💫
Yuko Ota and Ananth Hirsh have crafted a fantastic book. The humour is silly and fun. The art is bold and expressive. Its a very upbeat, dorky time.
Strangely, the comic kind of loses it mind near the end, where it goes from a quirky, romance slice-of-life comedy to a totally bizarre action beat that feels straight out of Scott Pilgrim. It was jarring but didn‘t ruin the book for me.

She lost her job. And her apartment. In the same day. Penny Brighton is one unlucky lady, it‘s ok though. She moves in to her friends storage unit and ends up working for her friends kid brother. Plus there is this sweet guy at the community center...maybe her luck is changing...maybe.
Cute, fast, and fun read!
New Year, New Books! Happy New Year Everyone 📚 ✨ 🎉 🍾
Yay! I love the variety of books that I am reading now due to Litsy and podcast recommendations. Maybe I'll hit 100 books this year. Too bad all of the angry people on the internet don't just relax and read a book, the world would be a much better place.
Thank you so much, Liz!!!!! I love everything. The mug is so cute and the pouch. And now I can make cute eggs!! I'm so excited to read the books too. I love that you sent me a book I sent my match but hadn't read. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
A cute read about Penny, who's really not very lucky at all! She's lost her job and her apartment and now has to crash in a friend's storage unit. Second book finished! #readathon
Happy #readathon everyone! I'm starting it off 1.5 hours late at 630 am here in the Bay Area. I've got some Yorkshire Gold with milk, baguette slices and a breakfast brownie for a breakfast that I think Gwenpool would be happy with. How's your readathon going so far?
Yesterday was a two-bookstore day. After our ramen (and quick browsing at Kinokuniya), we went to Barnes and Noble. The kids read books with their grandmother and I got to wander the comics shelves and discover some new-to-me comics!
Penny is such a bright spot. A strong young feminist voice that does what she's got to in order to make it to the next day. She is quirky, witty, awkward, brave, strong, romantic, and caring. #graphicnovel #strongfemale #humor #youngadult
Weekend library comic haul. Looking forward to the rain starting so I can ignore the chores I need to finish & just read. Other books, Deep Dark Fears by Fran Krause & ApocalyptiGirl by Andrew MacLean.
I've been in a reading slump for a couple weeks, and it turns out graphic novels are a great way to dive back in. This story is funny and clever and a pleasant, quick read. I might buy a copy for myself to keep on hand for rainy days.
I can't like this rom-com comic, about a kick ass main character who is obsessed with fantasy romance novels, enough. It's heartwarming, funny, and so entertaining. There should be more comics like this.
(written by Ananth Hirsh)
Hirsh and Ota created an unforgettably charming story in Lucky Penny. Penny's life includes a series of absurd mishaps, romance novels with amazing titles, a cute (maybe!) Viking love interest; and a dictatorial child boss.
