Original Don Daily illustrations bring the riverbank and endearing characters back to life in unparalleled quality in this classic edition of The Wind in the Willows. For more than a century, Kenneth Grahame's The Wind in the Willows has captivated children with the adventures of Mole, Rat, toad and Badger. Renowned artist Don Daily Captured the essence of these beloved stores with enchanting illustrations back in 1993; now, the beautiful artwork is posthumously published in Daily's honor in this new hardcover classic edition. The text featuring the same heartwarming tales on full color spreads, this edition is one to be treasured by a new generation of readers.

I thought this was a lovely little whimsical story. I adored the descriptions of the simple lives of all the little creatures. Maybe not the biggest fan of Mr. Toad… 😅

I‘m under the weather again, so my apologies for not having a more wordy review.

This was my #BookSpin for April.

Bklover Hope you feel better soon! 3y
TheAromaofBooks I have such clear memories of Dad reading this out loud to us when we were kids, mainly because of the car horn sound being “poop poop!“ and all of us kids thought hearing Dad say “poop poop“ was the funniest thing in the world 😂 Hope you feel better soon!!! 3y
SRWCF I had this audiobook on cassette tape as a kid. Oh, how I loved the story! 3y
Ruthiella I also only read this as an adult and I think Mr. Toad is really for the younger readers. The adults gravitate more toward Mole, Ratty, and Badger and all their cozy meals! Hope you feel better soon. 3y

This was a childhood favorite that I enjoyed revisiting as an audiobook. While I didn't love it as much as I did when I was young, it was still whimsical and fun. 💚

Who better for today's challenge of #carpediem than Mr. Toad! Trouble is he usually seizes too much.

2.5⭐ Much of this story did not sit well with me. It romanticizes a life of boys will be boys and an aristocrat lifestyle where one doesn't have to work. I couldn't get into the story and the audio recording wasn't great. Not a book I'd recommend to children.

The Wind in the Willows was one of my childhood favorites. This is the Folio edition that I bought last year to pass on the love to my daughter. She's still a little too young for it but maybe next year.

"After all, the best part of a holiday is perhaps not so much to be resting yourself, as to see all the other fellows working." So true!

Just started this on Serial Reader. What a great way to read the classics, in little niblets each day!

There‘s nothing––absolutely nothing––half so much worth doing as messing about in boats.
