Hey Alexa, play “Cell Block Tango”. 🔪💔💀
Here‘s some Virginia creeper in its fall colors, covered in ice and snow from yesterday‘s storm. I mailed MURDER CITY to @Kaila-ann this morning! #LMPBC #Round9 #GIRLSGIRLSGIRLS
"we both reached for the gun" ? ?
Read like a novel and was informative and fun.
I knew nothing about these ladies and now I want to know more!
I enjoyed this book. I‘ve never seen Chicago so I didn‘t have a comparison but I found the story fascinating. Throw in some female reporters along with female murderers and that makes for an interesting read in my opinion.
I am not quite done with my #LMPBC read — but I am close enough that I think I can finish and mail by the weekend. While there has been some interesting tidbits in this book, I have reached the point where I am skimming some parts. I think mostly I come away from this just wanting to watch the Chicago musical again. 🎵 🎶 💃 I haven‘t watched that in ages.
• Read in August 2020 for Litsy Markup Postal Book Club #LMPBC Round 9 - #GroupH
THE GIRLS OF MURDER CITY is set in 1924 Chicago. It chronicles the lives and crimes of three murderesses. Until the Jazz Age it was quite unusual for a woman to be found guilty of murder. This book brings to life three of the more notorious ones - the same three women featured in the 2002 movie and 1975 musical, Chicago.
Mailing to @Shakespearience on Tuesday
I am so sorry for the delay but this is in the mail priority style. Tracking 9505511762440224595000
This was a pretty interesting book and I would definitely recommend for anyone that like the play or movie, Chicago. First sentence- "The most beautiful women in the city were murderers. "
When male jurors believe that pretty women are incapable of murder...😇😂

#maybookflowers Day 1 These are my #maymostanticipated reads, especially Difficult Women. I'm not really planning a TBR this month. Most likely I will read the library books pictured here or maybe I will go rogue. 😎
Next up on my #labsoundtrack. Seems like I'm on a bit of a crime kick lately. Happy Monday, Littens!
This was a really interesting book, especially the fact that one of the first female murder reporters was the original author for the play.
This book was well written, interesting, and a fascinting look at the way things were in 1920s Chicago.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
An energetic true crime book revolving around the creator of the hit play "Chicago" and the real-life women who inspired her. This reads like a higher-octane Larson book, with all the verve and flashiness of mid-1920s courtroom and newspaper sensationalism. These women were the original provocative Kardashians, but badass & witty to boot. As a student of history, this was still quite eye-opening. #PairWith: Wild Turkey American Honey, straight.
For #InternationalCatDay, here is my and @BookBabe 's little boy, Coale ?. If you couldn't tell, he enjoys reading. And, his face was saying, "Leave me alone. I want to read in solitude. Go fix me some tuna!" He loves true crime.
Finally getting a chance to listen to this one! #audiobook #nonfiction
