Tells of the start of the hotel in 1898 and the sale in 1979 to Egypt's Mohamed Al Fayed but centers mostly on the WWII years of 1941-45 and all the famous people such as; Marcel Prost, Hemingway & his wife Martha Gelhorn, Fitzgeralds, royalty, Churchill, and the German officers during the occupation of Paris. I found the book very fascinating and need to read more about the people and events involved. Recommend to those who enjoy history.

This is a psychological suspense that will keep you turning the pages. This is my first Lisa Lutz book but won't be my last. Highly enjoyable book. Recommended.
