pickContinuing with Wilson's series, this just keeps getting better. Ms. Marvel is still fighting “The Inventor“ but now Lockjaw shows up with Medusa to help! Squee! Love me some Lockjaw! Graphics are great throughout and interesting ending. Looking forward to the next adventure!

pickIf I wasn't already psyched to read this (and I was), seeing Kamala interacting w/Wolverine would have done it. They were so witty & made such a great team! That story alone would have made the whole book for me. But then the book continues & the message behind it is so relevant! Some of the art wasn't to my taste, but when the story is this good, I can overlook not loving a page here or there. I can't wait to get a chance to pick up the next.

pickThese books are so stinkin‘ good. Really, I love everything about them- and I am not usually in to super hero stuff. Kamala is a bad ass 16 year old girl. What she may lack in experience, she more than makes up for in bravery and fearlessness. I can‘t wait to read the next one!
Does anyone else carry around multiple books before getting settled & comfortable for the evening? I can‘t seem to commit to just one tonight, and may jump between all three. 🤩🤩

pickKamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, is back! Vol. 2 collects issues 6-11 & wow. Wow! So fun! So much going on—Wolverine, mutated sewer alligators, the Inventor (who totally looks like a bird but will quite adamantly tell you he isn‘t one!!!), kids doing dumb things, friends doing brave things, & in the midst of it all, Kamala Khan who learns more about her history & what it means to be a hero. Oh yeah, there‘s also a really big dog. Highly recommended.
All of our classes cancelled—lots of Halloween festivities today—which left me with unexpected free time. Took advantage of it during lunch and visited the comic store. Maneaters 2 and Fence 11, out today, and the next volume in the Ms. Marvel series.
pickMs Marvel is my favourite caped superhero! Volume 2 is just as good as the first. Kamala meets Wolverine and faces the evil Inventor... who is a Thomas Edison clone mixed with cockatiel DNA. That we have cockatiels as pets makes this book especially funny. I love that my library has a comics section. I borrowed volume 3, too.

pickThe beginning issues that feature Kamala‘s impromptu team-up with Wolverine are the strongest of this volume; the Inventor plotline seemed way too abruptly wrapped up in the later issues.
Kamala is a precious ball of much-needed sunshine, especially when she gets a giant dog midway through (Lockjaw 4eva), so volume three is on my docket for sure despite the pacing issues of the first two!

I need something light to read. My last few books have been heavy subject matter. I‘m not a “trashy” romance reader so none of that for a palette cleanser. This is what I‘ve come up with lol 😆 I‘m going to finish Ms Marvel tonight then start one of the others tomorrow. I‘ve had them both on my TBR for a long time. If you‘ve read either and it isn‘t light please let me know!
pickAww. As superhero comics go, these are everso sweet. Believe in yourself, you can't always do it on your own, and teenagers are quite fab, don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

pickI put off reading vol 2, no way this series could stay as cute and on point...but surprise, I loved volume 2 too, still lots of smiles and great lines.

Even with some of the kooky graphics in this one, still love it!
I loved this part! It would have been so easy to play the older religious figure as the stereotypical one in all religions, straight laced and by the book, quoting from their holy book without being very helpful or insightful. I love that they played it with warmth, compassion, and yes actually some wisdom.
pickI don't read many super hero comics but I love Ms. Marvel and I love Wolverine. But I haven't read X-Men in forever so this was my introduction to Old Man Logan and I def had questions for my more comic savvy friends. Another perfect collection; Kamala fangirling over Wolverine is everything.
