Me with Ramona on the Beverly Cleary walking tour yesterday.
Definitely Ramona! I loved those books and checked them out of the library more times than I can count. A close second is the BFG by Roald Dahl. Whizzpoppers! 😆

1. I don‘t think it registered with me that these books were set in #Oregon when I read them as a child…
2. I‘ve only really passed through the state, but the whole coastline looks like a nice place to visit.

1. The Ramona books! I loved them, and they were still good when I read them as an adult.
2. Cold rainy days when I have an excuse to just stay in and read without guilt, but really I read in all weather.
3. That I got to see the Atlanta Braves win the World Series! They were my daddy‘s team and I grew up watching them with him. He passed away when I was in college, and watching the series brought back good memories.
It‘s #DropEverythingAndRead Day! I listened to Ramona the Pest, the second book in Beverly Cleary‘s Ramona series. I laughed out loud! Stockard Channing was the narrator and she was excellent. I loved Miss Binny, too. Her drawl was so endearing and I‘m sure she never forgot Ramona. I have to go up in the attic now to get the rest of the books. Hope you have a great DEAR Day! #100YEARS100BOOKS #BookSpinBingo #9 #BFC21 #SERIES2021 #AwesomeApril
Such a fantastic children‘s story! Ramona was the “baddest witch” before it was cool. I think I related to this so much as a kid because Ramona isn‘t forced to be a “girly girl.” It‘s fine to be that, but I didn‘t feel that way, so I was happy to have a heroine who wasn‘t afraid of worms and mud and shook things up! Go Ramona!
The whole #audiobook series is available on #hoopla 👍🏻

We enjoyed this as much as the first and are looking forward to the next couple in the series arriving. Ramona can be rather naughty but is also quite sensitive. Probably not unlike Beatrix.
@JoScho , you were one of the first Littens who taught me what a wonderful place Litsy was! 😊
📖 - “Ramona the Pest” by Beverly Cleary. I used to love these books when I was a kid, and I still remember how kind Ramona‘s teacher was to someone who others had labeled a “problem child”.
🎥 - “A Christmas Story”. I immediately thought of Ralphie‘s oft-tormented teacher! 😂
🎶 - “School‘s Out” by Alice Cooper

Ramona‘s always a hoot.

1. Hard to choose between Ramona & basically everything by Roald Dahl.
2. Always pie. 🥧 Unless it‘s cheesecake, which is really also pie. Cheesecake pie.
3. I don‘t know if I can count travel as a hobby, since I‘ve done so little in the past few years! Games, I guess—though my husband is much more of a gamer than I am.
4. I‘ve still got that travel afterglow, so I have to go with either the Welsh coast, or Ely (England).
5. 💜📚💜

#AugustGrrrl #Vacation & #ConstantCraving Doing double-duty prompts to catch up from yesterday. My last vacation was to Oregon-mainly the SW Portland area to visit family. Having spent my teens & 20s in Oregon, I have a constant craving for some things I can't get here: Powell's Books of course 📚📚(BTW-Ramona Quimby & her family lived in PDX), coffee from Jim & Patty's (formerly Coffee People), Cafe Yumm bowls & their sauce (I make it at home)...
