Holy. Moly. This book deals with a lot - self harm, drugs, sexual abuse, addiction, homelessness, etc etc. It was really good, and I cried 1000 times at the end. Everything about Riley was hard to read, because as the reader, you just knew it wasn‘t going to end well. Great book overall! (3)
⭐️: 4/5
This book was unlike something I‘ve read before. It was hauntingly beautiful and I really felt for the characters.

Book 46 of 2023! So heavy, but beautiful at the same time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
My most favourite part of the book was when Charlotte resided with her colleague's grandpa awhile. Where she found herself in her drawings. She had time to herself and had the luxury to clear her headspace.
What I will remember most about this book was when Riley instructed Charlie, for the very first time, to go to his place to wake him up the next day. It feels especially special when you‘re chosen for such intimate favors.
“People should know about us. Girls who write their pain on their bodies.”

I loved this book. It's sad and brutal and so true. I work with individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, and this really hit home for me. I can relate to a lot of the issues that were presented, and I felt really did an excellent job in depicting these tough issues. One of the best books I've read in a while. Solid🦋🦋🦋🦋
#GirlinPieces deals with many difficult and dark topics, in a very YA type of way. However, I appreciate that it still felt new and that the author wrote a poor, traumatized and abused main character who somehow fought her way through the darkness. Charlie has a very powerful voice.

3rd out of 5 new books achieved
I know this book is relatively popular and it is very sad, which is exactly why I wanted to read it. Although it‘s very deep, I‘m looking forward to see what Girl in Pieces has in store for me!
I like to enhance my emotional side once in a while, okay 😂
New book haul! Definitely an avid mystery/ suspense reader, but ended up reaching out to some new genres! Probably most excited for Girl in Pieces and The Pain Colony.
This is a powerful story of a girl named Charlie who seems to have everything working against her. She has no stability in her life, has been abused and homeless, and self-harms. This is a hard book to read but important to both understand what some folks go through and as a mirror for those experiencing the same things.
This book took me a while to read as I was in a reading slump. But it had beautiful story and I REALLY recommend it! Check the TW though! 4 stars.
Really good book, beginning was a bit slow and hard to get into, but this book showed the harsh reality of some peoples lives. The middle of the book was very very good, but I didn't like the ending.
#Beginswith #Pieces 💔💔💔 this one sounds heartbreaking!!
Very good read. It truly displays what it's like to go through such an event. More of a character development book which was very nice to see the process of recovery. Captured my attention right away.
TW: self harm, suicide
"Everyone has that moment I think, the moment when something so momentous happens that it rips your very being into small pieces. And then you have to stop. For a long time, you gather your pieces. And it takes such a very long time, not to fit them back together, but to assemble them in a new way, not necessarily a better way. More, a way you can live with until you know for certain that this piece should go there, and that one there."

It's been a crazy mental health struggle this week so i thought i'd live in someone else's head for a bit 🤧
Fans of Girl, Interrupted, Thirteen Reasons Why, and All the Bright Places will love this New York Times bestseller.
Gave this great book 5 stars! Read in one day. Could not put it down!

Oh my heart ❤️ with this one. It read similar to an Ellen Hopkins Novel for a story line, without the poetic and artistic writing! 5/5 stars from me
This book Girl in Pieces is ,unknown to me when I got it, a YA book. It is very well written. Difficult subject and I couldn‘t finish it . Right now I‘m needing a page turner so I‘m trying this one pictured. Has anyone read it?

All I can say is this entire book is one big trigger warning. I trudged through it, but can't even write a proper review because it was that raw. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys Ellen Hopkins's books ("Crank," "Burned," "Impulse," etc...) It just wasn't for me.
I know this is going to be a tough one to listen to already. I think any fan of Ellen Hopkins's books (Crank, Impulse, etc) will like this one (so far).
1. FINALLY got some audio book time in. 🎧
2. My youngest kid does not sleep. Ever. So we went for a ridiculously early walk.
3. We are so lucky to live in a community with so many safe walking trails. 🤍 #gratitude

"I remember the stars that night. They were like salt against the sky, like someone spilled the shaker against very dark cloth. That mattered to me, their accidental beauty."
