Just finished my last story in my 12 Days of Book-Club-Mas from #onceuponabookclub I really enjoyed reading the short stories and opening a bookish gift to go with it (and only got one book I‘ve read before! 😊) I think the Alice in Wonderland blanket is my favorite!

pickHow sweet! I really enjoyed this story with a brave and big-hearted 10 year old searching for the dad he never met. I loved Zac‘s friendship with Teagan, the girl down the street, and his special relationship with his grandpa. All of the characters in this book have flaws and demons but also a general wish to do right by each other, even when they make the wrong choices. I recommend this book if you like precocious kids overcoming obstacles.
I'm having a really hard time finishing this book. It has a cute premise but it feels really repetitive. I don't want to NOT finish, but I'm definitely not invested in it.
pickI just loved this book. It gave me all the feels. So much sadness and sweetness and I was rooting for this family the entire time.
Also, RIP to my bookshelf as it is laden with these (and more!) books that I have yet to read/need to finish reading. I keep getting distracted or buying and reading different books. If I was doing a readathon right now, life would be good. I plan on reading some next week while traveling to Cleveland for a concert. Maybe I can knock a couple of these out on the way there and back! 😏

pickSlow moving, feel good story that was predictable. Told from the perspective of 3 characters including 10 year Zac Hutchinson. I think that‘s what I liked the most, Zac‘s voice and his friendship with Teagan.

pickThis is a truly heartwarming story about a little boy who sets out on a mission to find his dad. The characters are all charming (even in their imperfections), and the setting in an English fishing town is perfect. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I felt like there was a twist promised that didn't really pan out. No big surprises with the plot, but sometimes it's nice to read something that's a little predictable. #arc 🌟🌟🌟🌟
