Perfect Match | Jodi Picoult
Assistant DA Nina Frost prosecutes child molesters, and in the course of her everyday work she endures the frustration of seeing too many criminals slip through the system and walk free. So when she realises that her son Nathaniel has been sexually abused - and is so traumatised that he has stopped speaking - she takes justice into her own hands. Nina Frost may have killed the man who hurt her son, but has she destroyed her family in the process? And whatever happened to innocent until proven guilty?

Jodi Picoult is one of my favorite authors. Her novels always contain some sort of moral dilemma. What would you do? This one follows a prosecutor who specializes in child abuse cases. Then she finds out her own son has been sexually assaulted. This courtroom drama has several shocking twists and turns. I really enjoyed it. 4⭐️ book 28

Tracyantoon Jody Picoult is always great! I have at least 1 of hers on my bookshelf begging me to read it. 😀📚 4y

The book my #dog picked out for me to read. I do enjoy Jodi Picoult‘s books and how it incorporates areas that seem black and white, but are actually grey.

Lots of surprises in this book. Based upon Nina, a prosecuting attorney whose young son is sexually abused. I‘d want to do just what she does without the oopsie she makes.

Wow....just wow. Halfway through this book and I am mad at myself for having waited so long to pick it up from my bookshelf. Anytime I see a Jodi Picoult book I haven‘t read, I buy it. And every single time, I am glad I did. Her writing is just...beautiful. This novel about the love of a mother is just...beautiful!

After one of the worst ever weeks at work, I am recentering at a friend's lovely home in upstate NY. While most of the guests play tournament Scrabble, I am relaxing with several books, including this Jodi Picoult. Absorbing and fast-paced: just what I need this weekend!

As Jodi Picoult's go, it was alright. I enjoy reading Jodi's work for something light in style but complex in plot. I enjoy how she deals with the complications of life as experienced by any ordinary so-and-so.

My pick for "threw it across a room" for #day5 of #photoadaynov16. Back in my very early days of book blogging (2007!) I had met @LitHousewife online and we tried to have our own book club. We read a couple of truly bad books, but this was definitely one of the worst. It felt deliberately exploitative and manipulative, with an ending that had me literally throwing the book. While the book club wasn't a success the bookish acquaintance has been!

LitHousewife What a stinker!!!! 7y
DeborahSmall I've read a few of her novels. Out of 5, probably 1 good. The rest I've certainly wanted to throw across the room. I refuse to even look at reviews of her books the last 5 years. 📚💩 7y

Gleefulreader Lol! I didn't realize it was a challenge. I was thinking to myself "isn't this the one we both read and hated years ago" but couldn't remember as I had wiped it from my memory. ?? 8y
LitHousewife @Gleefulreader I only wish we could wipe this book from our memories -- with the knowledge to stay far, far away from it. 8y
LivinginaLibrary I've read one book by Piccoult and my reaction was the same. I still get mad at the uselessness of the ending. 8y
BookBerries Hahaha 😂😂❤️ 8y
Karli This post made me laugh!!! Thank you. Maybe there needs to be a "never read" stack? ? 8y
MariettaSG Why did the ending bother you so much? What were you expecting? I didn't have anywhere near as strong a reaction, just an "oh yeah, okay" kind of feeling. 7y
LitHousewife @MariettaSG I don't remember the details clearly anymore, but the husband pissed off at the main character for so much of the book for what she did and then goes and does the same damn thing himself at the end. 7y
MariettaSG @LitHousewife Oh I see, I always got the sense that he was pissed off that she had the guts to do it, I'm not a 100% sure of this but I think there is a sentence early on about this. The foreshadowing of the poison and the cat dying I got the hunch that either Nina's policeman friend Patrick or her husband Caleb did it so it made sense to me. I find Jodi Picoult quite predictable in her endings but I enjoy the simplicity of her story telling. 7y
