An okay story where a small bit of communication would‘ve shortened the book by at least 100 pages. The twist seemed too far fetched to believe.

A sad story about 3 sisters but the ending turns it around.
Under 250 pages so worth the read!
While this book was entertaining through the end, the twists were so incredibly unbelievable that it really ruined the story.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ This really surprised me! I‘d never read this author, but I‘m so happy when my book club expands my reading life. I don‘t go for many thrillers because they often lack depth and development, but this was the right mix of fleshed out characters and suspense. And it felt oddly believable which I appreciate. Some in this genre are way too out there for me. Def reading Kent‘s backlist! #bookclub
Pick for April and between March and April I still have to go with the stillwater girls!!
While I do agree with the people who say the “twist” was unbelievable, I was able to look past it. That was minor compared to the rest of the book in my opinion. This book captured my attention from the very first page and I blew through it in one day. I adored the strong female characters. This one just blew me away and I had so much fun reading it.
I was all in on this book. I read the whole thing in one sitting! Wren, Sage, & Evie are three sisters raised by their mother off of the grid. When Evie falls ill, their mother must take her into town leaving Wren & Sage alone. Nicolette & Brandt are muddling their way through a failing marriage. The two story lines converge but it takes forever. The 'twist' was so far-fetched & it wasted the book for me. Bummer. ⭐⭐⭐
Really enjoyed this book… different and unexpected, keeps you glued till end of the book.
This has captured my attention. I‘ve read 43% in one sitting which is unusual for me! I hate to put it down but sleep is creeping in.

Only happened upon this #kindleunlimited title by chance yesterday, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a shot. So good! 📖

2 girls alone in a cabin in the middle of the woods waiting for their mom to come home with their sick little sister – this 1 had me hooked from the start. It switches points of view from one of the girls to a childless woman who hopes to become a foster parent even though she suspects her husband is cheating on her. So good up until the twists, which were a little disappointing. Still a well written & engaging story, just a touch unbelievable.
Suspense is my new favorite and Minka Kent is on my list of authors to be on the lookout for. Honestly, I wasn‘t sure what was even going on in this book for awhile. You have two narrators. The one, Nicolette, is a rich, married, unable to bear children, and positive that her husband is cheating. The other, Wren, is a young adult living in a cabin in the woods without any modern conveniences and believes the world is evil because her mom said so.
Unfortunately this one didn‘t work for me. The two storylines took a really long time to connect and were mostly disjointed. The big twist was pretty unbelievable and seemed a bit lazy. It just didn‘t make sense within the story. And then everything wrapped up way too neatly at the end with no suffering from any sort of trauma. ⭐️⭐️ #netgalley
"If I‘m lucky, all is not lost. And if I‘m not, I‘ve wasted years on woolgathering and dandelion wishes."
Thoroughly enjoyed this one. A fast paced, short book about 3 girls raised in a remote cabin by a single mother.
When the youngest daughter gets sick and the mom leaves with her in the middle of the night never to return, we begin to realize things aren't as they seem.
In a parallel story, we get to know a woman whose marriage is unraveling.
I love when my free Amazon Prime reads turn out to be so good!
For Hanukkah my boyfriend bought me a new Kindle Fire. I had been reading on my phone and on an old beat up tablet that lagged like crazy when I tried to swipe to a new page. So it was a nice surprise when I got this series of presents: Kindle, Kindle case, screen protector, kindle unlimited for a year.
I'm book spoiled now. Where to start??
Any Kindle Unlimited Recommendations? I just finished The Still Wate girls and loved it!
A good suspenseful book that was perfect for this week.
I'm excited about the #NetGalleyReadathon I have 3 ARCs that I need to finish and I happen to be off this weekend.
Thanks for hosting @Samplergal
An interesting read that will have you caring for the characters, which I find unusual in a lot of mystery/thrillers lately. Also the ending was a shock!

This was a quick and exciting #KindleUnlimited read! It‘s my first experience with the author and I already have another one of her books in my KU list now! Engaging storyline, told from dual perspectives - this certainly brightened up my rainy morning! 😊

A mother raising her three daughters in isolation leaves her two teenage daughters, Wren and Sage, in the family cabin to seek medical attention for their younger sister, Evie. Wren and Sage start to fear the worst when months pass and food diminishes with winter on the way.
Then you have Nicolette, a wealthy woman, who is unable to have children and wants to foster a child. She also believes her husband is hiding something from her.

I listened to this while working and on my commute. It‘s fast paced, a little predictable, and had a lot of “say what now?!?!” moments for me. With that being said I couldn‘t stop listening! 4 🌟‘s!
A fast paced thriller featuring two storylines - one deals with two teenagers raised in isolation and the other tells of a wealthy woman who no longer trusts her artist husband. The stories merge in a fascinating ending. #arc #NetGalley
Quick, engaging and interesting read. Predictable? Absolutely but also thoroughly enjoyable with short chapters and a quick pace.
I didn't want to put this one down.
Reading instead of doing the things I should be doing. I was working on Descendant of the Crane but I'm not feeling so I switched to this last night and had a hard time putting it down. So impressed with this so far. It's a quick read so I think I will just chill and finish today 😊

ARC. Full review on Goodreads.
Wren & Sage have spent their entire lives in a one room cabin with their baby sister Evie & Mother, who protects & provides for them. Then Evie got sick & Mother had to go get help. That was months ago & supplies & hope are running low. When a stranger comes looking for Mother & won‘t take no for an answer the girls are forced to take fate into their own hands, & find out everything they thought they knew was wrong.
I joined #Netgalley earlier so I guess this is my TBR list for the next couple days! I‘m excited!
Just finished The Stillwater Girls today. Quick yet interesting read. Four out of five stars ⭐️
