Pandemonium | Lauren Oliver
Im pushing aside the memory of my nightmare, pushing aside thoughts of Alex, pushing aside thoughts of Hana and my old school, push, push, push, like Raven taught me to do.The old life is dead. But the old Lena is dead too.I buried her.I left her beyond a fence, behind a wall of smoke and ?ame.Lauren Oliver delivers an electrifying follow-up to her acclaimed New York Times bestseller, Delirium. This riveting, brilliant novel crackles with the fire of fierce defiance, forbidden romance, and the sparks of a revolution about to ignite.

I liked this and am happy to continue the series. I listened to the audio and it was done well. It was a bit confusing at first as the narration went back and forth in time between “Then” and “Now”, and with listening to the audio, it‘s not easy to back up to see where we were. I knew, based on what was happening what was going on, but in all honesty, it took me a while to figure out which parts had happened first. Cont in comments...

LibraryCin . I liked where this book went, but there is a surprise cliffhanger ending 12mo

4✨Normally, I struggle with the second book in a series. This time was very different where I‘m confident I enjoyed this more than the original. Lena is lost in a world she wanted to enter with Alex. Now that he‘s gone she needs to find her own path. She makes new friends and she discovers more as she looks at the other side of the Delirium. It goes back and forth between the then and now to give us background in how she evolves. #SeriesLove

I finally picked this series up again after Delirium left me with feels. This one bounced around between then and now, but wasn‘t confusing. The characters developed well and as expected the ending shook me again. I‘ll be reading the last to find out what kind of epic ending it has.

Enjoying this series, so far. Book 1 was a little more teen-angsty than I personally prefer, but the story, the world, is very interesting, and springing off the set-up of the first book, book 2 took off quickly and is very enjoyable.

This was an interesting second book in the series. The resistance is determined to let the “zombies” know they are alive and well. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I really liked this one as well! The alternating timelines took a bit to get used to, but all in all, a great sequel :)

Right now I‘m finishing this one. Second in the series. The first one was Delirium. If you liked Hunger Games and/or Divergent it‘s very much in the same type of genre. I‘m pleasantly surprised so far.

Belleutiful @SilversReviews It really was! At first I was scared that the librarian was going to take them out and give them back to me because that's what she did with a piece of paper my sister left in her book, but she didn't and that made me happy! 😁 6y
SilversReviews @Belleutiful That is awesome she didn‘t take the papers out. Someone will be happy when they see the notes. 😍 6y
Belleutiful @SilversReviews Yeah, that's true. I hope that it's a way to spread kindness starting with the interest of the book 🙂 6y

This contained my least favorite type of love triangle. I knew it was coming right from the beginning and was angry about it the whole time. I still enjoyed the story though, but I just can't get behind this new couple. Especially when I'm still attached to the other one.

I enjoyed this more than Delirium. The "Then & Now" layout helped to keep the story moving. Can't wait to see how this series ends!

That was great! The then-and-now structure really worked for me -— both sides had a great pace. I loved Lena's tone in the "now" sections — raw, righteous, full of rage. And, of course, the writing was just...wow. Everything was great, up until the very end. Why, oh why would you set up a love triangle right before the start of the last book?! I'm gonna read it, since I'm invested, but man am I annoyed. Hope the rest of book 3 is still great! ★★★½

I loved this way more than the first book in the series! The back and forth of the timeline was very interesting, and I loved Lena's evolution from the first book. And then there's the stuff with Julian, which I also loved - a new love interest without the triangle nonsense. But that ending?! Noooooo but also yessssss! I can't wait to listen to Sarah Drew narrate the next final installment!

ReadingOver50 Gorgeous cover 😍 7y

I loved the first book, and am now slightly annoyed. This one dragged a bit but did have some good points. I figured I wouldn't go on to the third...but the cliffhanger 😩😩 I'll grudgingly finish - despite the warnings. Keeping my fingers crossed!

cariashley Yeah I thought this series ended up meh... 7y
abbiereadsbooks My thoughts exactly! I liked the first book so much and the concept was compelling, but it definitely fizzled out in books 2 and 3. 7y
booksandcats13 @cariashley & @abbiereadsbooks 100% agree. This was definitely on the "last book was a letdown" list. 7y

I absolutely loved the first book and had to jump right into this one. I'm 60% through and I'm simply annoyed. Hanging on for a bit longer....keeping my fingers crossed....

booksandcats13 I'd skip the last one if I were you... I liked the first two well enough but the third is anticlimactic. 7y

Listening to this one while I've been running, and it's as good as the first one! It's different, definitely, but it's just as good. It's making me look forward to running again, which I've needed (motivation is low these days, haha).

It's hard to review sequels without spoilers. Overall, I liked it. It wasn't the Empire Strikes Back, but it was pretty good for the second in a trilogy. Oliver introduced gay and minority characters, which was an improvement to the series. The end and set up for the third book were compelling.

TheNextBook Um. I love this cover! 7y

It was a bird. A bird struggling through stickiness: a bird coated in paint, floundering in its nest, splashing color everywhere.
Red. Red. Red.
Dozens of them: black feathers coated thickly with crimson-colored paint, fluttering among the branches.
Red means run.

Loved it, might have to revisit it. I hate love triangles and the one in this series gnawed at me cause both guys were perfect. Yet sometimes books are so well written that you make an exception and this series is one of them.
