I enjoyed reading this book. It had been a long time since I have read this book. I felt connected with Macy because of the way she handled things. I rated this book a 3 out of 5 stars.

Did I finish anything from my February TBR? No.
Did that stop me from creating another monthly tbr? Also no.
I went with some categories this time around.

An average teen summer read. I do not think there's anything special about this one.
Teenage girl from a somewhat broken family, going through a “break,“ meets a new cool guy, life changes, and now gotta choose between the two.
I think there are too many good books out there to take out time for this one.
2/5🌟
When I first started this book I thought it was ass. It got a little better as it progressed but overall just not one of the Sarah dessen books that I can appreciate. It just fits the formula of her books too much, all her books are the same. ALL OF THEM.
“All I could think was that right there in every passing second what is the future winding itself down. Never would forever with all its meanings be so clear and distinct, as in the true, guaranteed end of the world.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This was such a nostalgic read for me! I remember loving it in high school and I‘m so glad it held up to a re-read in adulthood. It‘s a coming-of-age story from the heart, reminding us that flaws make life interesting and that our forever is happening now - how do we want to spend it?
Fast paced, beach read. Ugh, I love a Sarah Dessen during the summer time. There is nothing like it!
Sooooo good 🙌🏼 Even as an adult, I learned some things from Macy‘s evolution into a happier human. Not everything is going to be perfect, & that is NORMAL!
We‘ve now covered three Sarah Dessen books on my book podcast and — spoiler alert! — The Truth About Forever is officially my favorite. Author Martha Waters joins me on today‘s episode to talk about Macy‘s story in all of its dreaminess and heartbreak. We discuss perfectionism, toxic relationships, terrible boyfriends, what it *really* means to work in a library, our collective approach to grief, and more. 💔 Listen at the link in my bio!
Sarah dessen is very good at writing her characters and her stories are all so well thought out. This one is amazing as all her others.
After the death of her father, Macy deals with her loss by being perfect- perfect grades, perfect boyfriend, perfect activities. When her boyfriend goes to summer camp, Macy happens upon a new job: Wish Catering, where nothing is perfect and finds happiness within that.
A good book- another standard romance.
The Truth About Forever has a slow start. Sarah Dessen focused on building up Macy‘s relationship with her father to establish an emotional impact on his death, but this could have been done in fewer words. It took too long to reach the main storyline. This has some good messages, but no closure at the end.

For any one of us, our forever could end in an hour or a hundred years from now. You can never know for sure, so you'd better make every second count. What you have to decide is how you want your life to be. If your forever was ending tomorrow, would this be how you'd want to have spent it?
--Kristy
This life was fleeting, and I was still searching for the way I wanted to spend it that would make me happy, full, okay again. I didn't know what it was, not yet. But something told me I wouldn't find it here.
But if everything was always smooth and perfect, you'd get used to that, you know? You have to have a little bit of disorganization now and then. Otherwise, you'll never really enjoy it when things go right.
--Delia
I intend to change my name as soon as I get to a place where nobody knows me, you know, where I can reinvent myself. I've always wanted to do that.
--Kristy
So I narrowed my world, cutting out everyone who'd known me or who tried to befriend me. It was the only thing I knew to do.
There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment.

I read “The Truth About Forever” for the first time when I was seventeen. I loved it just as much then as I do now, on the eve of my 30th birthday.
I love the writing style, the well-written characters, the emotion behind the storylines and romances. Wes is still one of my all-time favorite book boyfriends. Most of all, I love how reading any of Sarah Dessen‘s books is just like coming home.

I listened to this book on audio, and you guys, I have found a new favourite author! I loved this YA story about loss, love and grief. I cried; I laughed It was written in a relateable way and it spoke to my heart. If you like emotional YA loves stories, you'll enjoy this book. I'm already reading two more books by this author and I look forward to reading more.vi give this book five stars
The first Dessen book I ever read and the last one before I start on her newest book.
In the beginning, at least for me, it was difficult. It brought back so many memories of my own personal losses I found myself tearing up at times. But “The first step is always the hardest”. Towards the end it‘s cheesy, and predictable, but I still love it. Big fan of cheese 🧀.

I remember why this book spoke to me as a kid. I lost my grandfather in February of my Fifth Grade year. Since then I‘ve also lost my Aunt. Just like Macey I‘ve hated the condolences and all I wanted to do was grieve in anger and silence. I also hated events that led to both deaths, especially my Aunts‘. Not gonna lie, I did tear up. I haven‘t even finished the first chapter, I‘m excited to see where this book will take me.
#dessennewyear
So I saved this book as one of the last books before I started on Once and For All, because this is the first Dessen book I ever read. A gift from my parents after the Fifth Grade Ceremony. I remember loving the book, and have read it many times over the years. After reading through almost all her works, I wonder if my views will change?

Airport reading while we wait to board. I‘m new to Dressen‘s work, but this one was recommended.

This is Sarah Dessen - she is my favorite YA author.
Sarah‘s all time favorite book, from my online research is A Prayer For Owen Meany by John Irving, which I‘ve never read.
My favorite book of Sarah‘s is probably The Truth About Forever. But I really do love all her books!!
I‘ve heard a lot about Sarah Dessen from a few booktubers, so I figured I‘d give her a try!
I can‘t remember who tagged me—I think it was @ReadingRover or @Ddzmini Thanks!
1. 💈👌🏻❤️🎨📱😣🛣🌮💊😒🛣🤢🛌🚐📚🏘🎁🎈🛍🏢💻📚🎉
2. I don‘t usually want to kill book characters, but Umbridge was probably the closest.
3. Over!
4. I‘ve been a bridesmaid twice and have promised three more people I will when they get married.
5. This is late, so if you haven‘t done it yet, consider yourself tagged!

A small stack of books that feature #kidsinlove. It amuses me that I love YA as an adult because as an actual teen there was no way I would have been caught reading anything even remotely close to these titles. #decdays
We‘re having warranty work done in our living room today and tomorrow so I‘m very literally trapped in my master bedroom and only have TV. And books to keep me company. It‘s just so awful 😂😂
Finished one book and starting this next.
So I had to go get my husband a cupcake at B&N (made by The Cheesecake Factory but oddly enough not available at the restaurant) and I couldn‘t walk out with a book right?
A bit slow in the beginning but turned into a moving and hopeful read ❤ #YA #SeptemberBooks
September 10: Needs to be a Movie/Show - I would love for any of #sarahdessen's novels to be a movie, but this one is my favorite. #septinbooks17
