Pause for the paws. Really loved Julie Klam‘s memoir of her years as a Boston Terrier rescue volunteer.
Pause for the paws. Really loved Julie Klam‘s memoir of her years as a Boston Terrier rescue volunteer.
After Julie Klam adopted and fully fell for her first Boston Terrier, she got involved in BT rescue in her area. Here, she shares some of her experiences and lessons learned in a lighthearted, funny way. But, of course, because this is dogs, there‘s death involved as well, which was a little tough since I lost Greta so recently (there were some tears). Bindi and I both enjoyed this!
I‘ve had this book for awhile, but so glad I waited to read it. After my Foxy passed last year, I didn‘t know if I could ever pick it up. Not only did it help my broken heart a little, it reminded me that the love of a dog is so special. I needed that more than ever right now. This book is so honest and inspiring. I give it all the stars! Thank you @Litlady for sending this to me!!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ After thoroughly enjoying “The Almost Legendary Morris Sisters,” I had to grab something from Klam‘s backlist. New-to-you authors are just the best! This is a dog lover‘s memoir of her first Boston Terrier, grueling rescue work, and eventually managing a family *and* four dogs in a NYC apartment. My love for this breed, too, runs deep - RIP Frankie and Sam 🌈. Warning: You will cry your eyeballs out, so be prepared. But you‘ll laugh, too.
I was hoping for cute stories about Boston Terriers and their human, maybe a few lessons learned along the way, and assumed there'd be a little heartbreak. This did more to chronicle the author's involvement in rescuing dogs and how dogs became a part of her and her family's lives than make me wish I had met little Otto to see the cute things he does when you taunt him with his favorite treat. It does deliver on a little sadness, but again, ⬇️
I was reminded of this book when I was cleaning out some old photos off my phone. I hope to listen to this book this month for the #LittenListen @aperfectmjk

I'm a Boston Terrier mom and they are my very favorite breed of dog! This was a great read to me. Definitely has it's heartbreaking moments...but I enjoyed it a lot overall.
Birthday weekend was jam packed with fun. I traveled to Columbus to see my Crew play. Then book shopping of course. So this is my first chance to enjoy these amazing and thoughtful gifts my #litsypenpal @Litlady sent me. Can you even believe how wonderful she is? I'm blown away Ginny!!! These book selections are so perfect...everything is perfect. Thank you so very much! You're the best!!! Dog kisses from Foxy 🎂🦊❤️🎉🐶
A charming little doggy-tastic read about how much dogs (in this case Boston Terriers) bring into your life. Julie goes from owning her first dog Otto to volunteering to rescue and foster Boston terriers and it's through all her anecdotes that she shows how doggy companionship offers something unique to any other relationships. A nice read for dog lovers ❤🐶
This weekend's read 🐶📖
I bought this book based solely on the dog on the front cover. It's a lovely story about a woman and her beloved dogs. Be warned- you will cry. #recommendsday
