Current morning poem book. To read with my breakfast tea. Such a beautiful book.
Current morning poem book. To read with my breakfast tea. Such a beautiful book.
And quiet is the thought of you
The file on you complete
Except what we forgot to do
A thousand kisses deep
And sometimes when the night is slow
The wretched and the meek
We gather up our hearts and go
A thousand kisses deep
Gift for today 10th May. 3 years married 35 years together. ❤️ 🌈🌈🌈
Opening pages to my new commonplacebook set up. Love the steampunk children I found on a free site online. The catalog site is authentic. The washi tape is actually silk ribbon, made by Martha Stewart.
I left my fingers in the shot because I realized I hyperextended them by simply placing them on the pages to hold them open. Created an interesting Ehlers-Danlos illustration without meaning to do so. #bucketlist #commonplacebook #journal
Leonard Cohen is one of the great writers, performers, and most consistently daring artists of our time. Book of Longing contains erotic, playful, and provocative line drawings and artwork on every page, by the author, which interact in exciting and unexpected ways on the page with poetry that is timeless, meditative, and at times darkly humorous.

Forgot to post this. Story of my life. Finished this book and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. Might actually meet my reading goals this year!
This was my B book for #LitsyAtoZ and The Wonderful Wizard of Oz was my children‘s classic from before 1980 for the #ReadHarder challenge.
"A riddle in the book of love/Obscure and obsolete/Till witnessed here in in time and blood/A thousand kisses deep"
Couldn‘t do it. Gave it 50 pages. Poetry isn‘t my thing. Don‘t have time to waste on something I don‘t enjoy.
A reissue of his book. A beautiful copy. My gift to myself. A wonderful poet. Love reading his words. Love listening to his words. So glad I got to his last concert in Perth. @MrsMalaprop
Is there a better wedding gift than your BFF getting you PageHabit where I don‘t even have enough space or characters to explain this awesomeness???? It‘s creepy how well they know me. The notes from the author are almost the best part. My husband liked the complimentary pint glass. Lol!!!
A year ago today we lost one of the greats... #LeonardCohen #Heythatsnowaytosaygoodbye
Why it takes me forever to finish a task, exhibit A. I'm supposed to be replanting this poor thing that my cat knocked over. But the dirt fell into my magazine stack, which I had to clean, which made me look at this old Geist and notice it has some Leonard Cohen self portraits in it, which made me wonder if I have a frame they'd look good in if I cut them out, which... ok, repotting plant, right. I got this.

help them off the hook.
Recognize the hook.'

I've loved Thousand Kisses Deep since the first time I heard Leonard Cohen recite it at a concert. Now, I hear his voice every time I read it. I thought I'd share the list of his works too, even though the it's incomplete. #LitsyPoetry365
I haven't read much poetry in recent years, so I'm looking forward to the #LitsyPoetry365 challenge! I can think of no better way to kick things off than a re-read of Leonard Cohen's Book of Longing. I was a fan of his music and poetic lyrics long before I realized that he had written two novels and published several collections of poetry. With his passing in November, the world lost a truly talented artist, but his words will live on.
Lunchtimes are short so I make my way through a magazine. Poets & Writers today. This silent book club seems like a great idea!
New Year's resolution! Walk further away from the social media and closer to my ever growing library. Happy New Year to everyone!🎉
I really enjoyed this. Haven't read poetry in quite a while but it was very accessible sometimes very frank and often beautiful
Very excited to start this finally, it's been lying around for far too long
" I know she is coming I know she will look And that is the longing And this is the book"
"It is a religious moment also, and here is the danger. People will want to obey the voice of Authority, and many strange constructs of just what Authority is will arise in every mind." (pub'd 2006)

Heute ist wieder ein großer Künstler gegangen. Seine Musik bleibt.
Though you are singing somewhere still
I can no longer hear you
Leonard Cohen
I was trying to decide which tbr book to start next, but in light of the news I think it's time for a reread of this instead. RIP Leonard Cohen, and thank you.
I've come to love your music from an early age on, Leonard 💔
🕯thank you & may you R. I. P. 🕯
I have no words to describe the grief I felt learning of Leonard Cohen's passing. He was truly a genius with words and such a talented performer as well. RIP, Mr Cohen. You will be missed 😥
"I've worked at my work
I've slept at my sleep
I've died at my death
And now I can leave"

by Leonard Cohen
Saw him live about four/five years ago...the most humble, respectful, beautiful, talented, often troubled, frequently haunted and deeply spiritual man.
He truly made the world a better place for so many through his music, poetry and prose
RIP Mr. Cohen
The road is too long the sky is too vast the wandering heart is homeless at last.
