Loveddddd this!

I didn‘t manage to slot this in for Sep‘s author a month, but Oct seems to be a good time to read it too. A magical story about secrets, and an ancient curse. Of a lonely girl longing for friendship, and a town dead-set to hunt down a ‘monster‘. It has a touch of mystery. A little predictable, overall a sweet story of hope.
My last Alice Hoffman book for September‘s #AuthorAMonth. I rather enjoyed this middle grade story about two families who were once one another‘s enemies coming together to break a curse and the friendships that are formed. #BookspinBingo
I‘m not crying. You‘re crying.
Gorgeous little fairytale by this month‘s featured author #alicehoffman. I just can‘t get enough of her work ❤️

Trying to catch up on my reviews... Twig lives in Sidwell, a town that‘s rumored to hide a monster. And two hundred years ago, a witch placed a curse on Twig‘s family that was meant to last forever. Can the spell be broken?? Lovely magical realism recommended for middle grade.

A cute book and an easy read 😊 Read as part of the #buzzwordathon 5/5
Yes it‘s Wednesday again!! Hope you‘re having a great week 🤗 It‘s still Tuesday night here but for all you early bird players, go for it!
1* tagged
2* any combination of characters from Fiona Davis novels like The Address, and The Masterpiece!
3* I do like multiple POVs; an example would be the Scythe trilogy by Neal Shusterman

A cute little story about loneliness, friendship and overcoming a unique difference that makes someone fantastic... and a little bit of magic and apple pie. May #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks
Beautifully written and full of suspense ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
Nightbird is Story about two Friends, Twig and Julia, who try to save someone from an ancient curse. Will they make it? While they look for things they need, they start seeing graffiti that resemble monsters.
I think readers between the ages 7-16 would like this book. My mom enjoyed it, too!
This is mostly a feel good and innocent story. Hoffman's writing, as always, is rich with descriptions just like her other works. What disappointed me was the lack of suspense despite the story being based on a witch and her curse. However Hoffman expertly takes ordinary people and weaves magic into their lives, which is why I love all her books. It should be a pick for anyone who believes in magic.
1. Nightbird by Alice Hoffman. Love it so far!
2. It's easily Rules of Magic. It introduced me to Hoffman and it's magical 🔮
3. I have a bad slump right now so pre deciding is not going to help. Will read whatever holds my attention😁

My haul from my Burlington Public Library (WI) Book Sale. I look forward to this every year, who doesn‘t!! 📖 📚
Twig‘s family has a big secret. The secret has kept her from making- or at least keeping friends until now. This friend might just be what Twig and her family need to break the curse and set her family free.
Sweet upper elementary story I needed to finish for #oregonbattleofthebooks2019 so I can moderate battles in a month.
I made the pink apple pie recipe from the end of the book. It was a little messy (and, apparently, blurry 😁), but very tasty.
This was this month's selection for my IRL book club that didn't want something scary for Halloween. It's a sweet magical tale. A definite pick for me.
Latest kindle read finished. Lovely short read about a young girl and her big brother. A touching story about early friendships, early loves and misunderstandings. If your looking for a breezy magical read this is for you. 5🌟
#DollarTree book haul!
Kristen Bell‘s over on Instagram, #hashtagging “#nightreadin#” & demonstrating some new (& hilarious) bookish technology. Sarah Michelle Gellar‘s currently reading “The Perfect Nanny.” I choose the celebs I follow with great care:
1) Must have played a feminist, pop culture icon.
2) Must be a book nerd.
You go, girls. ✊🏻🌸📖
It's a fact that Alice Hoffman never disappoints. While this #middlegrade tale about a 12yo girl called Twig & her life in a small town in Massachusetts isn't necessarily her strongest showing (my favorite #teamAlice #childrenslit remains the Green Heart duology), I can't deny what a lovely little book it is. Charming & beautifully written, full of the lovely prose you expect from Hoffman. Will definitely recommend to students.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
From then on, I didn't cry when I was disappointed. I just stored up my hurts, as if they were a tower made of fallen stars, invisible to most people, but burning brightly inside of me.

I don't remember deciding to read this next, but I must have at some point because it was in my bag with a bookmark.... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ #gowithit
Enjoying the salt lamp ambiance & some quiet time before I go teach 4th grade science. #myofficemaybetinybutitscozytoo #YA #teamAlice #shhimtryingtoread
Dollar Tree find. Hard back for $1. #happyday #hardback #dollartree #cheapbooks #alicehoffman
This book was like a mix of practical magic and the movie now and then.
Young love, adventure, spells, family secrets and a small town....great combination.
The ending was a little sappy for me but otherwise I enjoyed it.
Also love all the covers!
Nachdem mich mein Islandkrimi nicht mehr einschlafen ließ, gibt es zum Frühstück ein Kinderbuch. Liest sich leichter und bekommt mir hoffentlich besser.
My heart needed this book. It's too hot, they are breaking up the sidewalk with jackhammers, but in the world of Sidwell, MA with Twig, Julia, pink apple pie, saw-whet owls, and an old mystery with a broken hearted witch at its center...I found peace. If you like Practical Magic, magical realism, small towns, and witches, you'll like this. It is YA, but that just means when you're done you can pass it on to a kid that you love.
