#NovelNovember. 3 down 1 to go. #NonFictionNovember
I really enjoyed Elton‘s memoir on audio. They made the right choice having Taron Egerton read the majority of it. Elton lays it all out there…the good, the bad and the ugly…in other words, human with a little extra 😊
Got to see Elton John last night and it was an awesome, magical evening ❤️
I almost gave up on this one because the book wasn‘t what I expected after watching the movie. I started listening to the audiobook, performed by Taron Egerton and that really turned it around for me. What an interesting life!
This autobiography comes off as so honest, with great insight into the man and the artist. He certainly lived the “rock star” life but also found happiness in his personal life after many challenges. Very interesting read.

A very good autobiography from one of my favorite singers of all time. ❤️ 🏳️🌈

I‘ve been a fan of Elton John‘s music for decades and dived into his memoir to learn more of his incredible life. He was very honest and self deprecating in this book, shedding light on both the positive and negative aspects of his history and I loved the inside glimpse of the rock & roll world of the 70s and 80s especially. Taron Egerton does a fantastic job narrating the audiobook. I got a physical copy from the library for the pictures too!
1. I just love Elton! He‘s had a wild life!
2. My fave genres are thriller and YA, but I have no good answer to the question. Within those genres, there are a lot of authors I haven‘t read yet. If it‘s a good story, then I‘m satisfied!
3. Don‘t have one...I don‘t read a lot of nonfiction.
If you want to play, consider yourself tagged! 🤗
Elton could be quite the diva, especially during his cocaine binges, and wasn't always the nicest. I really enjoyed how he turned his life around after getting sober, finally marrying his partner, and the journey of becoming a father so late in life. I admire he recognizes his privilege and all the good he's doing with it. I found this to be a quite enjoyable, quick book to get through.
“He was so eccentric as to suggest he might be genuinely nuts.”
Made my February #doublespin #bookspin with one day to spare! 🙌🏻
Bios are either hit or miss for me. This was a hit. Elton was infectious with his honesty and enthusiasm. There are hundreds of big names in here. But it‘s clear he‘s not name dropping, but genuinely knows a ton of people.
Definitely a pick for me.
My #24B4Monday #Readathon accomplishments! I didn‘t get anywhere near a full 24 hours but, I enjoyed what I did get accomplished. I‘m really enjoying the tagged book.
I‘ve decided to return my copy of Me to the library. Not because I don‘t want to read it, I really do! Because although I can‘t do “regular” books in audiobooks format, I can & do enjoy them for this type of book. Hearing Sir Elton John talk about his life (in his own voice) will be much more enjoyable for me. I have, in the past, thoroughly enjoyed a few other autobiographies this way & have 100% faith that Me will be no blow my socks away! 📚🎧
Im REALLY loving the tagged book SO MUCH!!! Im alternating between two books today and this one is such a joy to read/ the other is DARK and bringing me down. It‘s hard to pick The Darkroom back up. I‘d thought I might finish one or both books today but I don‘t think that‘s going to happen after all. So getting ready to post my #BookReport
I was not old enough to be a fan when Elton John was at the height of his popularity. By now, I‘m familiar with most of his big hits and charity work. I have to say that his eventful life sounded exhausting; so many connections to famous people and events. I think he qualifies as a Diva, but a self-aware Diva. The way he was treated by his parents was puzzling. He covers his addictions in a no-excuses approach. And Danced with the Queen!!! 3/5 🎹s
