Got off to a rolling start with #bookspin for the year by bailing out of this book (and so also the series) after only 60 pages. So much multi POV angst and so little action. I read YA because it tends to hook me sooner and read faster but this was not doing the job. I‘m sad the second book didn‘t live up to the promise of The Beautiful, but other than that, I think I‘m good with moving on from this series.

I listened and read a lot of cozy mysteries and romances in April, so I was in the mood for something a bit darker. Cue vampires.

I read the first book around Halloween last year, so I didn‘t exactly remember how the last book ended. But I was able to catch up with this one and really enjoy it.

Not sure if I‘ll read or listen to the next book because I didn‘t love this narration. However, I‘m really enjoying all the magical creatures and world

Although book 2 was slow going in some places the world building and character arcs continued to intrigue me. I love Bastian and Celine and I‘m looking forward to book 3 #100readchallenge #romantsy #readingchallenge2022 #marchreadinglist

The Damned takes place after The Beautiful. Sébastien is now a vampire and damned. He hates his fate. Celine‘s memories are gone, but she keeps having dreams. What will happen?
I feel like not much happened in The Damned. I was very bored most of the time. I did enjoy Sèbastien and Celine with their troubles and coming together. The world building was great too.

My #bookspin for March is done! Finally!! 🎉🎉 as we can see I‘m having a slow reading month thanks to a slump, which sucks because this may be my favorite #bookspinbingo board I‘ve made.
I still am enjoying this story I didn‘t realize it was still continuing but I‘m ready for the next one! I loved seeing how Bastian handled his transition and Celine‘s background. Idk I liked it! 😅

It took me a while to read this one, but I did enjoy it by the end. I thought this was a duology, so it was a bit disappointing that this book didn‘t wrap up the story like I thought it would. However, I still love the world Ahdieh has built in this series, and I‘m looking forward to seeing how it continues.

Vampires in New Orleans. Second in a series which really felt like build up for another one.

I thoroughly enjoyed the next installment in Celine and Sebastian‘s journey, but I‘m left with so many questions! I‘m curious to know how many books are planned for this series... initially I thought it was a duology. Does anyone know? In any case, I highly recommend for fans of vampires, werewolves and the like.

I enjoyed this, but it‘s very clearly not a conclusion to a duology. This series was marketed as such and I haven‘t seen anything that says otherwise, so that‘s annoying. Other than that, it was an enjoyable instalment and I enjoyed seeing the characters again and falling into the magic of New Orleans.

A lot of action was crammed into the end of this second book. It is written from different perspectives than the first and thus has a different flavor. I got a lot of my questions answered that were left over from the first book, some things were predictable, but the story really held my attention.

The Sequel to The Beautiful is definitely not disappointing me, I want to get lost in this book.
