Don‘t y‘all hate starting a brand new series and forgetting what‘s going on before the next book comes out? 🙃

I know I liked #SpinTheDawn because I rated it 4 stars on goodreads, but now that my library hold of #UnravelTheDusk has arrived on my kindle I‘m a little lost 😂

I‘m really enjoying it so far, I guess I‘ve just read too many books in between! Perhaps it‘s time to go google some spoilers of the first book 💕

Spending this snowy day in my newly-completed #homelibrary ❄️💕

I‘m really loving Fable so far, even though I haven‘t been in much of a reading mood lately. I have a #Goodreads challenge starting tomorrow, so today‘s goal is getting back into the habit of reading when I‘m bored rather than just turning on the tv.

CarlieReads @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks thank you!!! I‘m quite proud of how it turned out 😊 3y

A sweet, uplifting story. I expected a light, fluffy holiday romance. While this book does check that box, it also touches on deeper subjects. I loved the rich cast of main & supporting chararcters.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is a dual timeline story - in 1940s Venice Stella works with the Italian Resistance to undermine the Nazis and their fascist allies, and in the 2010s Louisa searches for info about her grandmother‘s past after finding an old photograph. The story focuses much more on Stella, which was fine with me since I was much more interested in her story. I enjoyed learning about the war in Venice and the efforts of the Resistance. Recommended!

So, I casually started this book around 11pm tonight, and here I am at almost 2am having just closed it. Suffice to say this book is incredible. Evelyn‘s story is captivating, more than a little complex, and the ending had a twist that I didn‘t even remotely see coming. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is one of the best books I‘ve read in a while. Highly recommended!

A moving story of family & friendship. Violet & Sam are both lost in their own ways - after Sam‘s suicide attempt, he goes into treatment and Violet is sent to Maine to spend the summer with their uncle. I really liked that while their family had its issues it was clear they all loved each other. Plus the relationships between Violet the friends she makes in Maine were super cute. LGBTQ representation and a hopeful ending. Recommended!

It took me a while to read this one, but I did enjoy it by the end. I thought this was a duology, so it was a bit disappointing that this book didn‘t wrap up the story like I thought it would. However, I still love the world Ahdieh has built in this series, and I‘m looking forward to seeing how it continues.

Everyone should read this book, it really opens your eyes to the experiences of disabled persons. From bringing awareness to the microagressions they face, to the supportive culture within the disabled community, to the problem with searching for “cures,” and so much more, this brought a lot of important information to my attention. There‘s a lot to say about this book. A really great one for book club discussions!

I don‘t read much nonfiction, but this book has convinced me that maybe I should read more. #Hamilton inspired me to learn more about America‘s favorite fighting Frenchman, and it was really cool to be able to connect real-life events from this book with what was portrayed in the show. (A favorite example: “Are these the men with which I am to defend America?” was a real Washington quote, not just a song lyric!) Overall, highly recommended.

I loved this book so much more than I expected. It was SO funny - I was literally laughing out loud throughout (and I definitely scared my dog a couple times). It reminds me of another recent favorite - The Blacksmith Queen. Apparently books that are fairly violent, adorably romantic, absurd, and unexpectedly hilarious are exactly my cup of tea. I can‘t wait to read more from this author!

THIS BOOK. I don‘t have the words to describe how much I loved Sorcery of Thorns. I stayed up way too late to finish it (hello #baddecisionsbookclub) and all I want to do is start it again from the beginning. So, I flat out LOVED this book. I made the mistake of starting it before bed on Sunday and I was up until 3am reading. An Enchantment of Ravens grabbed me from the very first page. Isobel‘s independence and firm sense of self were refreshing, and Rook‘s “declarations” were adorable. I loved everything about this book and I HIGHLY recommend it for fantasy and faerie story fans.

A fantastic book that kept me reading well into the night. One Day in December is a perfect winter read. The story spans almost a decade, but it‘s surprisingly easy to breeze through for such a wide-ranging book. I love Markus Zusak‘s writing. Bridge of Clay is such a beautifully complex story. It‘s one of those books that I suspect will take a few rereads before I really “get” every nuance, but even if you don‘t quite understand it all at first, it will make you *feel*. That‘s something that‘s remained consistent for me in Zusak‘s writing - he has such a talent at evoking emotion through his words, and Bridge of Clay is no exception. Highly recommended.

This is such a great epic fantasy series. Books 4-6 of the Kingfountain series follow the children of the protagonists in books 1-3. Usually I wouldn‘t been too keen on skipping so far forward in time, but here it works and I‘m loving getting to know the new characters set in the same world. It‘s also really fun to pick out all of the elements from the King Arthur legend entwined into this tale. All in all it‘s another wonderful installment.
