Jas16 This makes me laugh because Flowers in the Attic was the only book my mother ever said I was not allowed. I just went and borrowed it from a friend‘s mom. 2y

BethM @Jas16 my mom discouraged Flowers in the attic bc she said it scared her and I was an easily scared kid. That was enough to keep me away from it. 2y

marleed I really have to laugh at my junior high (that‘s what it was called in my day) self. We had unlocked lockers in our halls, and would unanimously pass around smutty romance novels. Honestly, I don‘t remember if it was 2 books or 20, but I do know my sex education came from those pages and not the sex education class taught by Sr Francine where those of us in attendance had written approval from a parent. Thinking of it, cracks me up! 2y

MeganAnn Ha! I was probably closer to 12 or so when I found flowers in the attic at the public library, and then proceeded to devour all of Andrews works I could get my hands on. My mom never really paid too close of attention to what I was reading though (besides carting me to and from the library as needed). She‘s actually more concerned about what my son reads than she was about me (he‘s 13 now) which I find somewhat comical. 😂 2y
