1. Yea, books are different than even a decade ago. Not sure if that‘s better or worse. But they‘re more liberal with subject matter, which in turn gives people more liberty to share their opinion on them.
2. No, I‘m often surprised. I‘m in for the ride.
I really enjoyed this book! Good story that kept you wanting to know more. As I got into it I finally just couldn‘t put it down and had to know how it ended. Some reviewers complained the ending was rushed but I thought jt was perfect. I look forward to checking out the authors other book. Put this book on your list!
This one kept my interest and was structured with flashbacks every other chapter but super easy to follow. If you like #psychological #thrillers or #mysteries this book is for you! Also a great setting in the #UP of #Michigan too!
This book was pretty good! The ending felt a little rushed, and it‘s definitely not as good as The Marsh King‘s Daughter, but overall it was a good one.
Wow. I would have read this in a single day, but decided I wouldn‘t read it in bed to avoid nightmares. I
Rachel has sentenced herself to a psych hospital, certain that she is responsible for the murder of her parents. Trevor, a journalism student, brings her a clue that unscrambles her false memory. She returns to her childhood home, and her damaged sister & aunt to find the truth.
Again set in Michigan‘s UP, a wonderful, terrifying read.
Finished this book and it was quite the ride!
Fast paced, cliff hanger chapters, a need to know more.
Local Michigan author. ✋🏻
I won this book today!
I participated in a zoom call with author Karen Dionne on her virtual book tour. She gave away a book nook (pictured) to one lucky random person...and that was me! It even lights up!
I'm going to give this one 3.5 stars. While it certainly held my interest throughout, I wasn't blown away at any point. The premise is interesting, a child that is diagnosed at a young age with being a psychopath, and how a family struggles to live with this. Ultimately, no one is safe.
A digital library read finished for #bookspinbingo.
@TheAromaofBooks
Thanks to @Andrew65 I put this one on hold through my digital library and to my surprise it became available today. Going to go ahead and start this one.
This will be another digital library read for the #bookspinbingo.
Book 3 read for #NetGalleyReviewathon This was a new author for me, but after enjoying this one I will be searching out her other books. A woman is in a mental institution thinking she murdered her parents some years before, when she finds evidence that questions this. Loved the telling of the book with the alternate dual timelines. Definitely a character you could buy into, a great storyline, tension and suspense as the book builds. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
Onto book 3 for #NetGalleyReviewathon. Looking forward to this one! A woman is in a mental institution in Michigan certain she shot and killed her mother as a child, no one believes her and they say she couldn‘t have done it. What is the truth?!?
