See Me | Nicholas Sparks
See me just as I see you . . .Colin Hancock is giving his second chance his best shot. With a history of violence and bad decisions behind him and the threat of prison dogging his every step, he's determined to walk a straight line. To Colin, that means applying himself single-mindedly toward his teaching degree and avoiding everything that proved destructive in his earlier life. Reminding himself daily of his hard-earned lessons, the last thing he is looking for is a serious relationship.Maria Sanchez, the hardworking daughter of Mexican immigrants, is the picture of conventional success. With a degree from Duke Law School and a job at a prestigious firm in Wilmington, she is a dark-haired beauty with a seemingly flawless professional track record. And yet Maria has a traumatic history of her own, one that compelled her to return to her hometown and left her questioning so much of what she once believed.A chance encounter on a rain-swept road will alter the course of both Colin and Maria's lives, challenging deeply held assumptions about each other and ultimately, themselves. As love unexpectedly takes hold between them, they dare to envision what a future together could possibly look like . . . until menacing reminders of events in Maria's past begin to surface. As a series of threatening incidents wreaks chaos in Maria's life, Maria and Colin will be tested in increasingly terrifying ways. Will demons from their past destroy the tenuous relationship they've begun to build, or will their love protect them, even in the darkest hour?Rich in emotion and fueled with suspense, SEE ME reminds us that love is sometimes forged in the crises that threaten to shatter us . . . and that those who see us for who we truly are may not always be the ones easiest to recognize.

3/5⭐ The romance part was sweet, the characters' backgrounds interesting. Their past selves seemed more complex than the versions in the present time of the story. I'm not sure what the author was trying to say about Colin's attempt to lead a better life but falling off the rails at every opportunity. His & Maria's actions tended to be irrational or annoying. I figured out the endgame pretty early on, though the climax was still exciting to read.

I loved the romance/mystery story lines running simultaneously. It kept things interesting and had me trying to figure it out the whole time! This one was much better than The Return for me. Yay, btw this was last months #bookspin but I‘m still counting it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

5/5 ⭐
This book was a page turner. I absolutely love this romance with a mystery in it. It kept things interesting.
Sparks always finds a way to incorporate many difficult subjects in his books. This one dealt with mental illness and sexual harrasment. Theres also immigration, a stalker, and UFC fights. So many things were happening. Definitely entertaining and once again, this book would make a great movie.

KristenDuck One of my favorites from Sparks!! 4y

This one took me by surprise. A departure from his usual teach jerker, cliche, romance, See Me offered a decent mystery suspense with a romance that was second to the mystery. Predictable, yes and wasn‘t crazy about the insta love, but a decent read for a rain day.

Okay, so I finished reading this yet another remarkable book by Nicholas Sparks.

And what a thrilling journey it have been.

See me is a well thought, well written romantic thriller and if I m not wrong in saying it's one of Nicholas sparks longest novels I have read till date. The author have very well tried to keep the suspense to the very end, which keeps you hung on to it.

SEE ME, just like I see you......

Just finished this one this morning. I‘ve always been a Nicholas Sparks fan. This one was good, and held my interest all the way too the end. It was a little predictable at times, but still good! Also, for #bfcr2 - I‘m a big fan of oven sheet pans. They make it super easy to incorporate lots of different veggies and options are endless! Here‘s a recipe for one. https://gimmedelicious.com/2016/03/22/15-minute-healthy-roasted-chicken-and-vegg...

wanderinglynn I love oven sheet pan recipes because they are easy! Thanks for sharing! 5y
twohectobooks This recipe looks delish. I may give it a try, since I‘m a super reluctant cook and always looking for easy recipes! 5y
Lucy_Anywhere Looks yummy! I love roasting salmon and sweet potato in a similar way 5y

A little slow in the beginning, but it's definitely picked up and I can't wait to finish it. I love Nicholas Sparks books because sometimes, you just need one - they're like a feel good rom-com 💜 #handsomeboy #catsoflitsy Update - Definitely different from what I expected - mystery! suspense! but still had the classic Sparks feels #introducingdetectivesparks

This was a step up from typical Nicholas Sparks book. It had the classic love story, but also a thrilling plot line with a bunch of twists and turns. I could NOT put it down.

I go back and forth with Nicholas Sparks. Sometimes I like him and others he‘s a bit much. This one was good because it had a lot of suspense in it and I liked the characters a lot. I found the story to be compelling and easy to sink into. Definitely recommending this one.

Sometimes, you just need a Nicholas Sparks book in your life. This really helped me out of my slump, I couldn‘t put it down and devoured it in only a couple of days. Some of his books I find slightly predictable (although good!) but this one held my attention and the plot twists I didn‘t see coming.

I listened to this book and it was the first Nicholas Sparks book I have ever read. It was decent. This seems more like a mystery or light thriller. The female character has a stalker and the whole book deals with that. I would read more of his books though.
