Even though this book is for young adults and written as so, I still really enjoyed it. I connected to the characters and thought the book was very well written. I don't know why I'm surprised, I was a huge Sarah Dessen fan as a kid. Glad I'm getting back around to reading some of her back list! 4/5

ok i normally hate sarah dessen, but i really enjoyed this book. it was fun and silly and made me think about my own friendships, even tho a lot of it was abstinence propaganda. i read it in 1 day, definitely what i needed to get out of my reading slump

Last week‘s reads and this week‘s TBR. 📚

A Million Junes is for #SUNDAYBUDDYREAD so it will be ‘in progress‘ this month.

Last week‘s reads were all enjoyable with Orient Express being a reread.

A comfort read that I return to again and again. A bittersweet coming-of-age tale.

i genuinely am not a fan of sarah dessen. i think all her books are the same. an average (but somehow different from the other girls) girl has a mom who doesn‘t get her and she falls for the bad boy and craziness ensues. that being said, this book was good. i liked it even tho it sounded like christian propaganda at some points. pretty good

I read my #bookspin in less than a day. It was what I needed during a difficult reading month. I was in a horrific car accident last week and my reading has been broken. This was 3 stars for me. @TheAromaofBooks

3/5 I probably would have loved this book and cried like a baby if I was 16 but I‘m 26 and I know how stupid high school love is most of the time. Read August 2020

Halley and Scarlett have been best friends for years. When Scarlett becomes pregnant and Halley meets the bad boy, they learn to navigate through their new ways of life.

At times, Halley comes across as whiny but always supportive of her best friend. It is a nice change from some of the books I've been reading. In some previous YA books, the friends are terrible, but are disguised to be good and it frustrates me, but this not this one.

This was a really great book about friendship, love, loss and grief. This is one of my favourite books by Sarah Dessen. I loved the girls friendship and how they interact with each other. I love the support they have for each other and I love how it was so clearly a coming of age story. Overall I thought this was really well done and I thoroughly enjoyed reading this.

It‘s been some time since I last read this book (maybe 15). In short it‘s a classic girl finding her way story, but in my opinion, not Dessen‘s best work. Halley is very childish for 16, and then and now reading it, I thought she was careless and naive. But I‘m glad I read it. There‘s parallels in my life there, and Scarlett‘s experience in her pregnancy and childbirth made me remember mine (although I was 25). Decent read. ⭐️⭐️⭐️

4 points! I haven‘t:
-left a smear of chocolate in a book
-bought more than one copy of a book
-reaches the lending limit at the library
-dropped a book in the bath

I would be lost in the world of Stardust as Tristan Thorn, having adventures and seeing magical things come to life!
Or even better I would be deep in the sea where the mermaids live, as one of The Little Mermaid‘s sisters (I don‘t want to give up my sweet fins for someone who doesn‘t love me).
#happilyeverafterswap #ifilivedinabook

SageLaruta I would probably be the poor sap that spends all of my time and money trying to find the start to my adventure or some bit of magic only to give up after years of disappointment. Only to have something amazing fall in my lap after I quit trying 😂 6y
Chrissyreadit Yes!!! I‘ve always struggled with her giving up her fins for someone who never learned to appreciate her. 6y
nudibranch One of my favorite sewing commissions was recreating Tristan's coat, embroidered starburst buttons and all ❤😊 so much fun to make! 6y

Saw this and thought it‘d be fun! I work as a mermaid 🧜‍♀️ and I‘ll do story times by the pool side. I also have a pool in my backyard and sometimes if the weather is nice I‘ll sit back there to read. Hence, Pages by the Water 🌊 📖

I‘m hoping B&N is still having their 50% off sale so I can start filling these shelves! I‘ve always wanted a library with a rolling ladder (coming soon), and now we own our house I can make that happen. It‘s still a work in progress but I‘m hoping to make it look “built-in”, add the ladder, and add secret cubbies.

Very cute quick read. I was able to finish it on a short road trip. I felt like I was able to relate to Halley as we had similar teenage years though thank goodness I had normal every day parents. I really enjoyed the storyline especially the over the top ending.

I‘m planning to reread all of Dessen‘s books in publication order this summer, which I‘m excited to do. I enjoyed this second book from her, as Halley‘s story explores death and pregnancy, friendship and first love. BUT how does this cover have anything to do with the story?

Book 1 for #SixBy6/6—finished on the 1st.

A perfect summer read in my favorite sunny corner. I haven't read this since high school, but it holds up, in the way a teenage romance can. It hits some hard issues, like death, teenage pregnancy, and a healthy dose of angst. #naturallight #youngadult #readya

Halley has been the shadow of her best friend, Scarlett, and she hasn't minded that at all. Now Scarlett needs Halley to take the lead when Scarlett's boyfriend is killed in an accident, and she finds herself pregnant with his child.
Scarlett has been the adventurous one. Halley has been sheltered and guarded by her mother. Now Halley is going to have to become her own person and do what she thinks is right.

I am almost done with this! I have about 100 pages left. My only thing is, is that I do t really know where it is going. I don't know if she is going to make up with Macon or if she is going to let him go. And what about Scarlet and the baby? What is going to happen to them? So many questions!!
