A diabolically twisty, psychologically unsettling novel about a woman with no recollection of her past from the authors of the Reese Witherspoon Book Club pick The Last Mrs. Parrish and The Wife Stalker. "Liv Constantine plants her flag squarely in land staked out by the likes of Lisa Gardner and Karin Slaughter."--Providence Journal Addison's about to get married, but she's not looking forward to the big day. It's not her fianc; he's a wonderful man. It's because Addison doesn't know who she really is. A few years ago, a kind driver found her bleeding next to a New Jersey highway and rescued her. While her physical wounds healed, Addison's memory never returned. She doesn't know her real name. Or how she ended up injured on the side of a road. Or why she can't shake the notion that she may have done something very, very bad . . . In a posh home in the Boston suburbs, Julian tries to figure out what happened to his loving, caring wife, Cassandra, who disappeared without a trace two years ago. She would never have left him and their seven-year-old daughter Valentina of her own free will--or would she? As these two lives intersect, The Stranger in the Mirror hooks readers with riveting drama, told with Liv Constantine's hallmark blend of glamour, tense psychological thrills, and jaw-dropping twists.

Holy twisty-turning. Not gonna lie, I had to reread sections due to zoning out at how morally and unethical (a certain character) becomes. My mind started problem solving ways to help the fictional characters escape their situation. Only truly great authors, like this duo, can get me to pick up suspense and become so emotionally invested in a few hundred pages. My only regret is reading it during Mental Health Appreciation Month when this book...

MaggieCarr ... was so far from that theme. 2y

Mediocre thrillers seem to be the only thing holding my attention right now for some reason. This one tried to squeeze too many outlandish twists in, conveniently hidden behind the "girl with amnesia" trope. It started out kind of promising, and was an easy enough read, but overall pretty unsatisfying. ⭐️⭐️

mcipher I had the same problem this year. I would be like “meh, not great…. Let me read another one!” And I put every other book down to plow through the meh thrillers 2y

This is the first book I‘ve read by this author and I will read future books of hers. I enjoyed the back and forth of the narrators and all of the twists and turns. This would make a good movie. I flew through this one really quickly.

Another one of those girl has amnesia books. Perfect husband who she ran away from two years earlier. Great boyfriend now. When old husband finds her will she return home? Sorry to say I didn‘t really care.

3¾⭐ | NARRATION 😁 = Very Good | Narrated by 📣 Suzanne Elise Freeman, Maggi-Meg Reed, & Jeremy Arthur

This took the amnesia trope and spun it on its head a bit. Completely insane is what it is. A tad preposterous, maybe a little more than a tad…but still a fun listen. Great narration and a quickly moving plot kept me fairly engrossed all the way to the twisted AF ending.

this is my #doublebookspin for Sept. @theAromaofbooks

This is another great book by an author that I really enjoy. This book was a page turner.
This is a very complex story that will keep you turning pages. It will have you wondering what is going on. You will like most of the characters, even one that you will most likely end up despising. At first I liked that one but quickly learned I was being fooled. Taken for a ride. Being lied too if you will. What happened to Cassandra?
