This book did a good job of modernizing a classic story.

This was a fun, modern retelling of Jane Eyre with some twists. A good way to escape for a few hours which I‘ve needed recently!

Well if you liked Jane Eyre you‘ll probably enjoy this one. It‘s basically a modern retelling of the classic. Some compare it to fan fiction and in a way they aren‘t wrong. Still a great escape for a few hours. And I may go and revisit the original.

Also reviewed this week for a blog tour, I enjoyed this dark & modern Jane Eyre retelling set in Big Sur. I love a good adaptation--preferably when the author doesn't just pick up the novel and put it in a different time or setting & instead reaches out to give another angle to explore. If you like retellings of classics or a just good twisty thriller you should enjoy it. It kept me turning the pages. My bookish dish pairing is a Shrimp Cobb ⬇️

Yes, it‘s past 2 PM here & I‘m just eating lunch at my desk. Tuesday feels like Monday.😬1.5 days of orientation yesterday & today, up late making donut-fried apples for a book event (posting later), couldn‘t sleep & I did the reading & started my haikus but my #chapteraday summary for the #PemberLittens will be late today.😔

But lunch is good😋(poke & furikake salmon bowl) enjoyed while trying to finish this book up for a book tour on Thursday.

After running Saturday errands I grabbed an early lunch at a new sandwich place in my ‘hood. Tried their shrimp salad sandwich with a plantation iced tea, enjoyed on the patio overlooking the Marina. It was ‘ono. 😋

While lunching, I read a couple of chapters of one of my current reads for a book tour next week. I‘m really enjoying this Jane Eyre retelling so far.🤗

I really enjoyed this book. It was a fun, suspenseful retelling if Jane Eyre and now I want to read the classic again.

About to start this modern Jane Eyre retelling for a book tour review later this month. I think that seeing the #ghost or ghostly presence of the dead wife of the man you are falling for (& who is accused of killing her) would leave a person quite conflicted. 🤭👻😱

I received a digital copy of this book from Netgally in exchange for an honest review. This books was a spooky and modern retelling set on the California Coastline and I could not put it down. Jane was wonderful, Mr Rochester is brooding and intimidating and the late Beatrice Rochester is compelling and sympathetic. #netgalley #MrsRochestersGhost
