Laura picks up the wrong suitcase at the airport. After peeking at its contents Laura begins to search for the owner. Along the way she gains help from the local taxi driver - Ted. Ted is full of gruffness and wit but it makes her cab rides entertaining. The journey set in Jersey leaves Laura rethinking her outlook on love and what she wants from it.
This book is typical of a rom-com but this adds to its charm and humour. 4🌟

I listened to this while painting. It was cute, sweet, and romantic which doesn't always do it for me but hit the spot this weekend.

Help! I have plans for August and October but don't know what to do for June and I hate March. Any easy, amateur, ideas would be appreciated! @litsycrafters

Book club meeting today was wonderful! We met at a local coffee shop and had a wonderful discussion on our August book (tagged book!). We even discovered one of our members had her own fairy tale meeting with her husband (we all were swooning!). Excited for our September meeting and our September pick of The Golden Spoon by Jesse Maxwell!

This is my #BookClubReads for August. I honestly wasn‘t expecting to like this book (it‘s not my typical genre). This was such a cute lil Rom-Com I could hardly put it down (I read it in 3 days!). Such a sweet little romance on a quaint little British Channel Island. The characters are cute and believable and the island setting makes for a perfect beach read!

RBT - Quite a brutal crime thriller with an LGBTQ+ themed storyline.

JHMYY - Surprised how much fun

TCATEOTW - Interesting premise with a decide for yourself ending.

Cute rom-com meet cute sort of book that was a light and entertaining read. I enjoyed that it takes place in Jersey, one of the Channel Islands, which is an area I‘ve never visited. There‘s nothing especially deep in this book, but it‘s an enjoyable read.

A nice rom-com full of meet-cutes, the dream of finding love, and a whirlwind weekend adventure. I liked Laura‘s family story about love, even though it wasn‘t quite what she thought. It‘s easy to root for the under dog in this cute book! Book #6 in 2023

I very much enjoyed this delightful romcom! Super cute, a little less "cookie cutter" than a lot of romance plots, but still gets to the HEA (duh). And a nice little reminder that sometimes, while you're out searching for what you think you want, you might just find what you need instead ❤️

Fun, light-hearted and the perfect reminder that love will find you when you least expect it!

A pleasant diversion 3/5

A soft pick for me. I really liked the idea of meeting your person through a luggage swap. Like a drawn out meet cute. That said, I found Laura frustratingly focused on creating a picture perfect happy ending because she had been led to believe her parents had one. I kept wanting her to grow more within the pages. Still, it was a cute read.

She has a great way of writing flawed, interesting, fleshed-out, and lovable characters.

I saw a lot of myself in Laura as a fellow romantic who loves the idea of love. From the start, there are so many laugh out loud moments. I loved Laura, Ted, Jesper, and the whole cast of characters. Highly recommend this book, and enjoyed “This Time Next Year” too. Sophie Cousens is now on my must-read authors list.

As cute as to be expected. A nice Rom- com that was a perfect palate cleanser.

Overall, I found this is an undemanding read. It didn‘t blow me away. It didn't give me all the feels like the books by Abby Jimenez, Josie Silver, or Lyssa Kay Adams. This isn't a story that will stick with me. But I enjoyed it enough to finish it. It's definitely what I'd classify as a beach read.

Book 1 for #DashingDecember

This was a sweet read. Made me chuckle out loud s few times. I found Laura to be a charming character and managed to read this one in one sitting. Lighthearted read for sure.
