Thank you so much @squirrelbrain for the two Libro.fm credits, and, by some strange magic, for the package you sent before the mail hack that showed up on my birthday!! I really appreciate both of these and our dear friendship! 💜💜🥳

This short novel adeptly illustrated the fears, insecurities and flaws of two adult sisters coming together for a holiday at their family cabin. I felt deeply for both of them throughout the story while also cringing at the ways they often showed up. An uncomfortable and insightful read. #ToB2023longlist
This was only a short book (I read it in one sitting) but it packed a powerful punch in terms of the veracity of the familial relationships portrayed.
40 year old Ida goes on holiday to her family‘s Norwegian cabin, where making sense of her life leads to conflicts with the rest of her family.

I read the tagged book (and gave it to a friend directly afterwards so no picture) and Mouth to Mouth from the #ToBlonglist. I enjoyed both a lot. Percy Everett is an auto buy author and again he didn‘t disappoint!
Ida is forty and single. She‘s always tries to do things well and yet life has not worked out the way she expected. She needs to come to terms with this but that‘s not easy with her mother and her sister around in their shared cabin near the Norwegian fjords. They seem to have it all and it makes Ida wonder why she can‘t have that. It‘s a thin book but it packs a punch.

It might be a bit ambitious to think that I‘ll be able to read these four books along with watching the World Cup ⚽️ but I have so many books I want to read!!
So here are two books from the #TOB longlist, the new Percival Everett (why isn‘t it on that longlist 🤔), and a still unread book from the #NYRBBookClub. Let‘s do this!
