⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I would have to say I liked all 3 books in this series and for the most part they did not lose momentum as they went on. Book 3 managed to pull off even more surprise plot twists, along with the expected dosage of puzzles and games. Really a fun series. My only complaint was the “too tidy” ending in this one.
This is the end of The Inheritance Games trilogy (however upon more digging I saw there's two more books not in the main trilogy). Holy plot twists. Normally, mystery or thrillers can be predictable in a way that you can see the end coming before it happens. This trilogy though...you think you know all the details just to be blindsided by something that changes the whole course of the book.
Liked this better than the second installment but not as much as the first. Lukewarm on the series as a whole, but I will admit the conclusion of the overarching storyline works. My daughter liked the series though, and that‘s really all that matters. Truthfully, YA is not my favorite, and I‘m looking forward to diving back into a good ol‘ (standalone) middle grade novel.
The final book in this trilogy was just as exciting as the first two. Student in my 10th and 11th grade English classes are loving this series, and for good reason. Luxury, unimaginable riches, intrigue, mystery, action with a side of love and family loyalty, what's not to love?
I enjoyed this one. I had started reading it a couple of times then stopped (d/t it being very um... similar to the previous - fun, drama, love triangle, mystery, repeat). Anyway, I finished this during my #AudioCleaning today (not much cleaning, but some).

Listening to this while I fold clothes. I‘m a little more mobile and so I‘m trying to slowly get back into things. 🦞was not helping me! He kept attacking the clothes! #AudioCleaning
Redownloaded #LibbyLoan this one for an #AudioCleaning book. But… decided to start this while taking a long soak in the tub 🛀🏻. #SelfCareIsNOTSelfish
3rd book, Inheritance Games. Liked it better than the second, but not as much as the first. I'm not opposed to the unbelievable, but as this series goes on, I find the antics tired and less possible to believe. Same thing as books: one and two...another riddle, another bad guy, and a love triangle that goes nowhere for me. I'm rating it so so because I did like it better than book two. I think there are more, but I'll pass
This one was good. Still a pick. But a lot of the series I found is a loop. Everything's fine, something goes wrong, there's a puzzle with 4 parts, they solve the puzzle, there's a bad guy reveal, some family drama, bad guy loses, everything's fine, repeat.
But at least it was JUST different enough to keep my attention and remain a pick.

Rushed off to my mom's when we got a phone call of her and stepdad crying and him asking us to come sit with her. Gives a chance to try and read some
Really loving this series with all the puzzles and twists! +151 pts

This book did something to my little heart. Avery and my Hawthorne boys were phenomenal. As the games continue Avery is left to deal with some tough questions, that could change the course of both her life and the Hawthornes. It was captivating, anxiety inducing, romantic, and truly one of the best mysteries I‘ve ever read. I may have found my new favourite series.
I have enjoyed this series a lot!!!! I loved the characters. I was hoping for a little bit more from the ending of the book. I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars.
I am so glad to be done with this trilogy. It was great, I‘m glad we read it, but holy crap the tension in this book was almost too much at times! The stakes are higher than ever, and everyone is out to win. I‘m content with the ending, though it wasn‘t exactly what I was expecting. Overall, I give this series a 4/5. Would be a great tv show. 🤩
I‘m so excited to finish this series. 😊
Couldn‘t celebrate yesterday as I was at the dentist then I was tired and hungry from being at dentist…

An interesting end/3rd book to the series.
Read for reading challenges.
4/5
This may be the best of the three when it comes to plot twists! I can definitely see why this is a huge hit in the YA world.
A decent wrap-up, but not very realistic or breath-taking :) I liked the premise and the ending.
Book #3 in the series, and the final book. In this book the games & mysteries continue, but also the story comes full circle as Avery closes in on fulfilling the criteria for the inheritance of living in Hawthorne House for 1 full year. Without giving anything away, I would totally re-read the series, or even better, watch the movie. So entertaining.
Avery has weeks until she legally inherits the Hawthorne fortune. Someone she cares about goes missing. More puzzles & riddles from Tobias Hawthorne start to reveal themselves. Which brother will she choose? Will she be able to obtain the inheritance?
This 1 was such a great ending to Avery‘s story. There were more amazing & fun riddles & puzzles. I actually like Avery by the end, & I usually don‘t like the mc. I‘m also satisfied w/ who she chose.
I love this series! Barnes does an amazing job of summarizing the past books enough so I don‘t feel lost reading it after a year long gap. I already preordered the next one today. The only thing I didn‘t like was that romance between Nash and Libby. The age gap was gross and weird, but I loved everything else! 5🌟
Also, I would totally reread this series from Xander‘s perspective:
This has been a very enjoyable series. Romantic suspense with puzzles and twists galore.
This series is fun.
1st book of the 2023 reading season in the books.
I can't say if I liked some character more than another because they all felt somehow so flat. There also were a way too many of them.
This wasn't really thrilling nor intriguing, more like boring and confusing. But the setting was awesome and I think I have liked it most in this series.
The ending was good and gave a really satisfying closure.

Just so good. So addictive. I'm short on time so that's all I'm going to say. They kept me up all night. Read Them! :-) 1. Inheritance Games 2. The Hawthorne Legacy 3. The Final Gambit

My daughter tells me this YA series is very popular on BookTok & I totally get it. Girl inherits billions from a man she‘s never met & has to live in the family mansion with the man‘s disgruntled family—including his 4 grandsons (3 of whom are around her age)—to get it…& the games begin. It‘s every bit as fun & over the top as the premise sounds with plenty of games & riddles & twists & turns to keep you guessing until the end. Super fun story.
#seriesread2022 I‘m pretty satisfied with the ending. Avery comes into her inheritance and figures out who she is and who she wants to be. And I‘ve decided I‘m team Greyson!
Moving on to the third book in the series 📖👓🎧 #goodreads #goodreadsreadingchallenge2022 #ya #yabooks #thefinalgambit
This book was a big mixed bag. I felt like I was sort of rereading the previous two books, but I did love parts of the Eve storyline, the Queen's Gambit storyline, and the ending. But like I said it was SOO similar to the previous books, it felt a bit like lazy writing. I so wanted to love this book, but it was just good, not great. It was so like the others I had to double check I hadn't read it before, which I definitely didn't!
Thrilling conclusion to one of my favorite trilogies. So much fun!
