Blood Vow: Black Dagger Legacy
Blood Vow: Black Dagger Legacy | J R Ward
#1 "New York Times "bestselling author J. R. Ward returns with an all-new tale of paranormal passion in the world of the Black Dagger Brotherhood. The Black Dagger Brotherhood continues to train the best of the best to join them in the deadly battle against the Lessening Society. Among the new recruits, Axe proves to be a cunning and vicious fighter and also a loner isolated because of personal tragedy. When an aristocratic female needs a bodyguard, Axe takes the job, though he s unprepared for the animal attraction that flares between him and the one he is sworn to protect. For Elise, who lost her first cousin to a grisly murder, Axe s dangerous appeal is enticing and possibly a distraction from her grief. But as they delve deeper into her cousin s death, and their physical connection grows into so much more, Axe fears that the secrets he keeps and his tortured conscience will tear them apart. Rhage, the Brother with the biggest heart, knows all about self-punishing, and he wants to help Axe reach his full potential. But when an unexpected arrival threatens Rhage and Mary s new family, he finds himself back in the trenches again, fighting against a destiny that will destroy all he holds most dear. As Axe s past becomes known, and fate seems to be turning against Rhage, both males must reach deep and pray that love, rather than anger, will be their lantern in the darkness. Praise for J. R. Ward s Black Dagger Brotherhood series Utterly absorbing. Angela Knight To die for . . . I love this series! Suzanne Brockmann"

tdrosebud @StayCurious I've read several of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series and have enjoyed them. I've not yet read any of this series which is a spinoff of the original series. 13mo

JR Ward has the mad ability to make me laugh out loud and then a page later have me crying hysterically. This book had my emotions swinging all over the place with the highs, lows and the hilarious Lassiter shenanigans.

I loved Axe and Elise. It appears to be a case of opposites attract, but these two have more in common than they think. I also loved the continuing storyline of Rhage, Mary and their adopted daughter.

CoverToCoverGirl Really liked this one too! Can‘t wait for Lassiter‘s story.... you suggested a great title— Lassiter‘s Shenanigans- lol 😂 4y

I finished this audio before Blood Fury. At first, I thought Axe was a little too much of a jerk. But he eventually turned around and I loved him. I also really liked Elise and felt for all she had been through and loved what she was wanting to do with her life. One of my favorite books from the Black Dagger Legacy series so far.

As the 2nd book in the Legacy series, I wasn't too fussed with this book. I haven't been impressed with this spin off series at all. The beginnings are boring and it doesn't start getting good until the last 150 pages. I am not looking forward to the next book but I will try and read it cuz its part of the series.

I'm loving this side series to the Black Dagger Brotherhood books. 1) The new characters are amazing; in this case, Axe stole my ❤️. 2) Seeing the Brothers all in one place and having their stories built on, is awesome. Rhage and Mary continue to kick me right in the feels. Also, Lassiter made me literally laugh out loud. I love him. He needs a book soon! ❤️❤️❤️

I wasn't going to own up to this. Here is my guilty pleasure: I love these books. Pure escapism. A bit of sensible, or insensible, Urban Fantasy sees me right every now and again. Don't judge me! Well, you can if you like, but I don't care!!

The Black Dagger Brotherhood is a total guilty pleasure of mine, but I don't care, I love it! Next part in the legacy spin-off was still as heartbreaking at times and fun at other times as the rest of the series. Roll on "The Chosen" in April :)

I have to say that the Rhage/Mary/Bitty parts saved this book from being so-so. I didn't love Axe/Elise storyline, but I'm a sucker for the #BlackDaggerBrotherhood ! #LitsyAtoZ #LetterB

2017 #13 Vamp porn Audio for the BDB fans, this is better than the previous legacy book as it had the new guys with lots of Brother story. This is pure, formulaic, mindless, should not listen outloud in a public space, wonderful vampire romance (porn). The sex scenes aren't as awesome as anything prior to Blay's book but are sufficient and sometimes you just need fluff ;)

Another awesome book by JR Ward. Love what happened with Rhage, Mary and Bitty. Oh and there is a possibility that Saxon will have a new love interest. I am ready for the next one. Now please. Thank you. #romantsy

I continually like these series. I like seeing the characters grow and mature. Sometimes I almost forget it is about vampires until they mention it.

Any fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood will want to read as we get the rest of the Rhange/Mary/Bitty story. Axe gets his HEA in this one, and we get set up for the next legacy story of Peyton and Novo . I rate it so so because I feel like we are recycling characters in some way. Sex clubs and meaningless sex yo deal with life anyone? It was a nice and solid story but didn't get me super excited over all, and I found myself skipping over parts

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ of 5 ⭐️s.

Love how this series looks at issues of privilege and class in vampire society: an issue that's sometimes brought up in the main series but not explored fully there. Sadly, the main couple kinda lost out to the Bitty storyline in this one: it sometimes felt like the main couple were more a distraction than anything else. Hopefully this doesn't happen in the next book.

Looking forward to this one, especially after reading The Beast earlier this year :D.

Riveted_Reader_Melissa I really should catch up with this series soon. I have The Beast to read and both of the spin off series waiting for me to get to them. 8y
kammartinez @Riveted_Reader_Melissa Deffo read The Beast before jumping on this one. Stuff happens there that's pertinent to events here, and it will be super-satisfying, trust me ;D. 8y

This was a quick & solid read. I appreciate that Ward avoids lots of exposition in these books, assuming that most readers have read the series. I also like how the legacy books heavily involve past characters while still developing the present world & characters.

Give that fallen angel his own book already!! He had me laughing my butt of constantly while reading, especially that last chapter. I always love reading about the brothers & their lives. I am really enjoying how this Legacy series is bringing us back more to the original brothers while still introducing new people. Do I sense a HEA for Saxton on the horizon? *finish book & picture makes sense*

Trying new things. I have never really been a tea person (I do love my coffee) but I received a bag of tea as a gift and decided to give it a try. Plus it gave me an excuse to buy this cute Sloth tea infuser. So looks like I am sipping tea tonight while I read.

I tend to rate books by how much I care about the characters and how emotional I get while reading a book. I love J.R.Ward's characters so much they almost feel like real people to me. This is definitely a fictional universe I love to live in. I'm sad that I finished it in one day but I just can't put her books down! I'm already counting down the days until I get my hands on The Chosen. April cannot come fast enough😩
