I got the most wonderful surprise Christmas gift by mail yesterday! Fun fact: if you listen to the podcast, on a recent episode I explained how I've always been a library girl growing up. From a young age I always went to the library and borrow tons of books. The fact is, I've never actually owned a book of fairy tales until now! Thanks to my book nerd friend that sent me this awesome gift.

3/5 Very slow start. I think it took me about 40% to really get into it. It should be noted that I read Caraval years ago...and I didn't remember feeling that Tella was so immature. She probably was then, but I really felt it this time around. The love interest was interesting, but not mesmerizing, nor did I want them together enough to root for them in the end. The writing is still just as good and I appreciate the creativity of the Caraval world

This month's book club read. While this subject matter is not my cup of tea, my hat goes off to Jodi Picoult. She is always able to write about difficult subject matters in a thoughtful, logical, and balanced way.

It should be noted that the audiobook narrator is excellent with this title.

Pretty good romantic suspense. Strong characters, but the reveal of the serial killer had a slight twist, but overall easy to figure out the who and motive. I really enjoyed this on #audiobook. The narrator was enjoyable.

Such an amazingly well done book. It's very in sync with the current climate and tackles a difficult subject with grace. I recommend this book for everyone. It's a great tool to start important conversations on race relations.

Thus main character is driving me batty. She's absolutely stupid... Not to mention that this book is feeling more and more like a Lifetime movie.... Which isn't necessarily a good thing.
