I find this to be a very #StunningCover with its corpse flower. I bought it last year partially because of the beautiful cover & still need to read it.

If you‘re looking for a terrific short story collection about a marginalized group of people with a little magical realism and/or dystopia mixed in to some stories, this is the one you‘ve been looking for. It‘s so good! I liked each an every story and some of them made me “oh!” out loud.

For today‘s #DebutByIndigenousAuthor prompt, I‘m going with this debut collection of stories written by an author who is “Japanese and Native Hawaiian with deep Moloka‘i roots” according to Honolulu Magazine.

It‘s being published on 8/29 & I pre-ordered it last month through my local indie bookstore in part because I love the cover & they were offering a limited supply of the corpse flower enamel pins with pre-orders. 🤷🏻‍♀️
