It is so good. Josephine Tey was a master.

This novel sets two types against each other: one is careless and selfish and charming, and the other is strong and silent and an old soul. They're nearly identical and both beautiful--blond and fair and male--and twenty/twenty-one. There's an inheritance at stake. There's a mystery.
Josephine Tey is a snob of the first order but I have to admit I love her for it.
Continuing my TBR project:
This is one the oldest selection on my TBR list - Originally added April 17, 2017.
Written in 1949, This is an old-fashioned , cozy mystery about an impostor who convinces a wealthy family that he is their son who died in his childhood. Actually, there is quite a twist at the end.
This is a great read. You can picture yourself getting into a sticky situation and becoming afraid for your life.
I have long hated mysteries, and wonderful reader friends urged me to try this one in hopes that its literariness might break the spell. But by early in the third chapter I was as nauseated as I always am by the conventions of mystery fiction, so no, it didn‘t work. I have no criticisms to make about this novel. None. I am just constitutionally not cut out for the genre.
Apparently I‘m a letter behind, so I‘ll do “B” today as well! #ManicMonday @JoScho

Food: Bread (seriously, I love bread)
Author: Lois McMaster Bujold
Movie or TV show: Brooklyn Nine-Nine
It's probably hard to #actnaturally when you're impersonating someone else. Finally picking this one up!

I am discovering I have a fondness for these old style mysteries. This is my first Josephine Tey but I have also been enjoying the occasional Agatha Christie. Next I think I‘ll try a Dorothy L. Sayers. Anyone have any suggestions about which of her titles I should try?
Finished this up today at the gym. Loved the twist at the end!
I‘m thinking of going with this for my next audiobook. Anyone read/listened to this? Thoughts?
Let me tell you, #purple books are hard to come by in this house. I was able to locate one and only one.

An enjoyable mystery about impersonation. I've never really met a Josephine Tey book I didn't like...

Why did I ever think this book would interest me? And even if it had been interesting, it's still not very good.
Reading Brat Farrar by Josephine Tey for the first time. Excellent so far!
