Finding myself rushing through this library audiobook so I can move on to something happier. Although I wouldn't say this book is expressly pessimistic, it certainly isn't optimistic either 😕. #audioworking from home today so should be able to finish this read quickly.

LauraJ I‘d take it with a grain of salt. A lot of things in the book are just his thoughts without anything to back them up. 5y

gradcat I thought it looked familiar...I lived there (very briefly) in the early 80s. It‘s really a beautiful city, especially in those parts with the wide sidewalks. 😊 6y

JessNevertheless @BarbaraBB Ooo! Library of Congress for sure, it's so beautiful! Smithsonians are great too esp in the summer since DC gets very hot and humid. Lots of pretty rowhouses to look at in the Capitol Hill and Dupont Circle areas. Bookstores: Politics & Prose (multiple locations), Kramerbooks, Capitol Hill Books, Solid State Books. Anything specific you're looking for? 6y

Technically my balcony should be off-limits at the moment but they haven't locked me out yet for this repairs project 🤫. Basking in the sunshine at the moment and my team's victory last night 🎉🏀🧡. Thank goodness I sorted on my bed or else I would have gotten tired and given up half way through. But finally, organized by genre!!! From left to right: classics, picture books, mystery, thrillers, horror, fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, young adult, contemporary, history, memoir, true crime and science! Even have a whole cubby free out of frame for current reads! 😁📚📚 #shelfie

My building will start balcony repairs in about a week, blocking my view and favorite reading space all summer 🙁. Making the most of the time I have left though and the favorable temperatures to read outside as much as I can today. Saw this in a used book store and just knew I had to have it. I'm always fascinated by cemeteries, graveyards, and all things morbid. I love learning about the history of cemeteries in particular, and now I've got a list to visit and learn about (at least from the comfort of my reading chair)

phatsallylee This sounds like an amazing read! If you are near Savannah, GA, i recommend bonaventure cemetery. Very peaceful with amazing views and plenty of moss covered oaks. 6y

Crazeedi Have you ever heard of the guy that goes around and cleans the old gravestones, looks up what info he can on the person buried. I follow him on fb, but come to think of it havent seen in quite some time. Uses his own money etc 6y
