Ready for spooky season but also still happy to read and tan in the late summer sun. ☀️🎃
Ready for spooky season but also still happy to read and tan in the late summer sun. ☀️🎃
It's a rainy day in DC and I've broken out the appropriate candle to set the mood. Going to be a long monotonous day at work but at least I have some audiobooks to choose from to make it through. 🎧
Almost done with the series which definitely helped with a reading slump these last few months. I'm not usually into YA fiction but I absolutely loved these!
Actually back now from a long school-induced hiatus with a Masters and tons of books to read! Starting off with this one for book club tonight which is timely given the 75th anniversary of the Nagasaki bombing yesterday. So far, sad but interesting.
Listening to the lovely Stephen Fry reading about greek gods. What a pleasant way to spend a Friday afternoon! #crochet #audiobook
Back from a long hiatus and suddenly quite a lot of free time due to present circumstances. Happy to now have the time to read without a commute to the office although should still be probably spending more time on grad school assignments.... Almost done with this one and thankful I have quite a large TBR stack from the last few months built up. 📚📚📚
My little goth heart is so happy 🖤🖤🖤 Caitlin Doughty author of Smoke Gets In Your Eyes and other wonderfully morbid books.
The UVa book club of DC meets the National Librarian! Great start to the day at the National Book Festival. 📚
Still here and reading, although at a much slower pace. Started my graduate program and also working full time so there isn't a whole lot of time to read hard copies, but I can keep up with my book club reads by #audiobook. 🎧
Five books, three completely from start to finish, and I'm done! Feel like this readathon has helped take my mind off other stresses, while also pushing me to take time to enjoy things I love. It's been great reading with you all! #24in48 #readathon @24in48
Feel pretty accomplished with day one of the #24in48 #readathon! Two whole books and about 400 pages to finish a chunkster. Now for bed 😴 @24in48
Starting book 3! Finally finished The Pillars of the Earth so I'll keep it going with a bit of history. #24in48 #readathon 🕘 9 hrs 35 min @24in48
Had a change of reading plans and decided to read/listen to this book for the first time. I can only imagine the impact this story would have on the kids who read it in school. First book of #24in48 done and nails painted, overall a very productive morning. 🕓 4hrs 5 min. #readathon @24in48
Up and awake and getting started with my first book of the #24in48 #readathon! Coffee was the first priority and the book second ☕📖
First priority for the #24in48 #readathon is finish The Pillars of the Earth. Loving this book but need to commit to finishing it and a few others before life gets hectic in the fall. Starting a graduate program (in addition to full time work) in a month and sadly don't think I'll be able to keep up my usual pace. Looking forward to diving into these tomorrow! 📚 @24in48
Laundry is started, coffee is made, now where was I? 📖
Just what I needed for this rainy day, a new #botm! In love with the cover on this one 💜
Very hot inside and out today. Yet another good excuse for staying in and reading. ❤📖 The main reason of course is to ignore the chaos that is the National Mall on Independence Day. #nocrowdsformethanks #fourthofjuly #botm
Some nice Friday night reading with Cosette in the foreground and an unknown, but also good dog, in the background. Staying at my parent's this weekend who have also invited their friends and their dog (surprise!) 🐶🐶
Catching up on some #botm reads. 🍦🧡
Oh no. I'm a sucker for non-fiction and the Great Courses. Already reading the tagged for book club which pairs quite nicely with the actual work I should be doing. Prepping to start a graduate program in a few months with a nice refresher on math and finance. #greatcourses
Finding myself rushing through this library audiobook so I can move on to something happier. Although I wouldn't say this book is expressly pessimistic, it certainly isn't optimistic either 😕. #audioworking from home today so should be able to finish this read quickly.
Happy to live only a few minutes walk from the DC Pride Parade route 🌈. Easy to head home and get back to my book when the crowd anxiety kicks in.
My favorite intern came back this summer and brought me books 😊. Already feeling the office vibes in this one 🗄🗂📈
Sometimes I just need a little action in my life. Currently living vicariously through this scifi thriller (but also thankful this technology doesn't exist)
It's gonna be a hot one today🌡☀️. Enjoying my parents deck and this audiobook. Wish I remembered to bring the hard copy with me to make this more perfect.
It's a beautiful, warm, night in the district, perfect for #audiowalking
Taking a break from life and visiting a bookstore. Didn't find the book I was looking for but something always finds me.
"Working" while reading ?. Intetesting theories presented so far!
Current #bookclub read. Thankful for a short book this month. 📖📚
Been in a slight reading slump but Poirot always seems to get me out of those. Re-reading one of my favorites, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.🕵🏻♂️ #tbrr2019
Listening at work today. This isn't actually the WaPo version but is free on audible. #audiobook
Wish I brought a hard copy to work today to make the most of this rooftop sunshine but this audiobook will have to suffice. 🎧🌿
Enjoying the beautiful weather and trying not to die of allergies. Still worth it. #audiowalking 🤧🌸
Technically my balcony should be off-limits at the moment but they haven't locked me out yet for this repairs project 🤫. Basking in the sunshine at the moment and my team's victory last night 🎉🏀🧡. Reading my orange book to match my orange dress. I'm not much into sports but Iove when my alma mater does well. Go Hoos!! #uva #wahoowa
Thank goodness I sorted on my bed or else I would have gotten tired and given up half way through. But finally, organized by genre!!! From left to right: classics, picture books, mystery, thrillers, horror, fantasy, science fiction, historical fiction, young adult, contemporary, history, memoir, true crime and science! Even have a whole cubby free out of frame for current reads! 😁📚📚 #shelfie
It's a long time coming, have never really organized them fully since moving in nearly 2 years ago 🤦🏻♀️. Wish me luck! #audioworking to the tagged book for motivation. 📚📚📚📚
My building will start balcony repairs in about a week, blocking my view and favorite reading space all summer 🙁. Making the most of the time I have left though and the favorable temperatures to read outside as much as I can today. Starting off the morning with coffee and this delightful medical history book! ☕👩🏻⚕️
#audioworking today to this book. It seems a lot like Margaret Atwood's Alias Grace but I'm enjoying this so much more. Picking up so much about Iceland too, the patronymic naming system is especially intriguing.
Back from a few-week Litsy hiatus! Had a lot going on but have never stopped reading 📚. I've been bingeing Hercule Poirot, and am on my third book in a row. Really enjoying these short stories, perfect for picking up when you need a quick fix of Poirot.
Saw this in a used book store and just knew I had to have it. I'm always fascinated by cemeteries, graveyards, and all things morbid. I love learning about the history of cemeteries in particular, and now I've got a list to visit and learn about (at least from the comfort of my reading chair)
Now to just attach the owl and weave in ends!! Riding the dopamine high right now so this audiobook I just started is very appropriate. Finally mostly done!!!! #audiocrocheting
In this case, I feel like the book might be as pretty as its cover. Enjoying it so far, reading along with the audio version and one of my favorite narrators.
