I remember the day I checked out a book from the library and got a receipt instead of a card. I was not happy 😅
...The psychological pain of awaking in the early morning, the sting of returning to consciousness after the bliss of sleep...
I can‘t relate to that feeling at all! 😂⏰
Little poppies, little hell flames,
Do you do no harm?
You flicker. I cannot touch you.
I put my hands among the flames. Nothing burns

Clocks belled twelve. Main street showed otherwise
Than its suburb of woods : nimbus—-
Lit, but unpeopled, held its windows
Of wedding pastries,
Diamond rings, potted roses, fox-skins
Ruddy on the wax mannequins
In a glassed tableau of affluence.
From deep-sunk basements ...
