Georgie is 34th in line to the throne and is broke. She also happens to stumble upon a body in her bathtub. Plus, the Queen wishes her to “spy” on a certain Mrs. Simpson…1930s England, with an ingenious sleuth and a touch of romance. Overall, I liked this fast read. There were parts that seemed to be a tad overdone or repetitive, but I was engaged enough to wish to see what Georgie would do next. Her mom is a hoot! #192025 #2007
An excellent installment in the Dresden File series, superbly narrated by James Marsters. This one has Harry investigating serial killings, while trying to figure out what his vampire brother has been doing in secret.

42/22 I finished this book a couple of weeks ago & forgot to review! I‘ve thoroughly enjoyed each book in this series, but I must say this one made me realise that part of the appeal is 3 pines itself. And as this book didn‘t take place there it felt like a magic ingredient was missing. Though I completely understand why Penny has to spread the murders a little further then the village or there would soon be no one left! 🌲🌲🌲 # 192025 #2007
Elena has Parkinson's, her daily activities depend on the times when she takes her medicine, and is able to move for a few hours. Elena needs those hours to find out who killed her daughter.
Moving between past and present, Piñeiro not only paints a beautiful portrait of the relationship between mother and daughter, navigating between dependence, hate & love, but also of aging and disease. A sad and beautiful story.

Elena suffers from Parkinson‘s disease and she is desperate to find out what happened to her daughter. Timeline of the story is one day, and while Elena takes trip across the city, we are transferred into her mind, her complicated relation with her daughter, her progressive disease … Beautiful written, with painful description of illness and physical limitations of human bodies, ageing, struggles of the caregivers … Powerful and bleak.
This was such a sad, but well-written and compelling read. Alice is diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease at 50, and must step away from her teaching position and research at Harvard as the disease progresses. #BookRiotReadHarderChallenge2019: a self-published book (this was turned into a movie in 2014, it was originally self-published through iUniverse in 2007) #ReadingThroughTheYears192021 #2007
