It was GREAT to see the always terrific @BookPixie at today‘s #2030SomethingBookClub. She and the spectacular @Magdawrites are the book club‘s two longest-attending members besides me. What a wonderful pair of bookish peers!!! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻☺️🤗🤗🤗 #NYC

MrBook @ljuliel ~8 years, and I‘ve been doing it for 4 or 5 of those. 😁 The tremendously amazing @Apinlibraryland started the book club! 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 (edited) 2mo

I periodically put up a poll asking members of the #2030SomethingBookClub to choose which books should be the next 5 upcoming meetings‘ selections. They‘re all from members‘ suggestions that they email me. What an incredibly fantastic group of books to choose from!

Have you read any of these?
Which ones would you vote for? (You can vote for as many as you‘d like.)

Lillie Only one I've read is Recursion and it's a ride. Enjoyed it immensely. Several of the others are my tbr list. 5mo
mydearwatson I‘d probably vote for _The Remains of the Day_ because it‘s the only one I‘ve heard of 🤦🏻‍♀️. 5mo
RaimeyGallant 1 is so fabulous, and it will get the group talking about perception. 5mo

alysonwrites I love The Remains of the Day! Recently I gave a copy to a bookish friend—it‘s a title I have recommended to him more than once. Then he gave me a copy of The Master and Margarita, a title he has recommended to me more than once. So it‘s interesting that both titles show up in this list! 5mo
Jess Educated will give you the best book discussion but all my votes go to The Great Believers. Loved that book. 5mo
Kimberlone Recursion was so good! 5mo
IndoorDame Educated is such a great book club read! 5mo
TheSpineView Recursion! 💜💜💜 5mo

The second #NYC bookclub on my docket was the #2030SomethingBookClub. Almost 30 in attendance for this one.

A couple folks liked this one quite a bit, but otherwise it was declared a unanimous eh. 😆

If you‘re looking for an entertaining action-packed light read, like for the beach, then this selection would work.

Hi, everyone! Sorry I was MIA today. It was a veeerrrry busy day 🤯, lol. The #2030SomethingBookClub had its monthly meeting today in #NYC, and we discussed “Pachinko” 😁👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻! It was difficult to squeeze 40+ people into one shot and have it come out clear in a dim room 😆, so this is a pano lit up. I did the best I could—they go way back 😊.

I loooovvve this book club group! We just keep growing and growing! 🤗🤗🤗

Smrloomis That looks like so much fun! Awesome 😁 9mo

Another great meeting of the #2030SomethingBookClub that @MrBook and I run in #NYC! Excellent discussion. And there was a lot to discuss about this book. Have you read it? What did you think?

C.Perone I loved this book. The whole bizarre doors thing was great. 10mo
Reviewsbylola I HATED this book. 🙈 10mo
Reviewsbylola Which in a way can elicit it‘s own great discussion. 10mo
ladyneverwhere I loved this book! It was one of my favorites I read last year! 10mo
Billypar I really liked it: for a short novel, I felt like it captured the relationship between the main characters in a realistic way, even as it covered the larger societal implications of the doors. For me it combined the appeals of a magical realist novel and a short story. 10mo
