Have you read any of these?!

#LitsyLovesLibraries #MrBooksDisplays

annahenke #confession Can you believe I‘ve never read 3w
ElizaMarie @annahenke its really good you should pick it up. I am on a reread of it for the book club #NWC and I am remembering how much I loved it the first time I read it :) 3w
annahenke @ElizaMarie it‘s one of those I always mean to pick up but never actually do. Maybe I will sometime soon! 3w

#NFNov #Confession I miss fiction! I am loving learning about different topics but I miss fiction so much!

sblbooks I know what you mean. I'm reading one historical fiction novel for a Buddy Read. 2mo
LauraJ Yep, I‘m sneaking in a bit of fiction too. 2mo

Ok, #confession - this is the first time I opened the purple cover version and realized there's a map folded in here... 🤦‍♀️

I'm considering rereading this for *A book with more than 500 pages* for my library's open books reading challenge.

LibrarianJen I love books with maps! 11mo

#MusicalNewYear #OnMyOwn Wild is Cheryl Strayed's memoir of her 1,100 mile solo hike along the Pacific Crest Trail, beginning in the Mojave Desert and hiking through California and Oregon eventually ending in Washington State. #Confession...I‘ve never finished this book...I have like 90 pages left but I was getting really annoyed with Cheryl and her poor decision making skills. I think I‘m going to try to finish all my unfinished books in 2019❣️

vivastory Do you bail on books very often? 13mo
julesG That's a good resolution, but keep in mind that you are allowed to bail on a book. 13mo
BarbaraBB I think I stacked this book because of something you told about it but maybe I should unstack as you bailed on it? 13mo

Cinfhen A bail is different than putting a book aside @vivastory @julesG @BarbaraBB I DO bail often, but usually when I bail I‘m NOT tempted to revisit that book, but sometimes I get distracted or I feel like the book is heavy and I put it aside. I only have a handful of books that I put aside that I would like to finish. This is one of them. The other off the top of my head is another memoir (edited) 13mo
julesG So you want to revisit it. That's different then. I get it. I have only a handful of those books, I call them hibernating. 13mo
Cinfhen Also I started a bunch of books towards the end of the year that I realized would work for 2019 challenges so I need to go back to those. 13mo
Cinfhen That‘s great @julesG yes‼️I have books in hibernation 😜 13mo
Cathythoughts Great Choice & yes @julesG ... hibernating .... I really like your way of thinking! I too , have a few in hibernation 😉♥️ 13mo
TrishB Great choice 👍🏻 though I‘ve never been tempted to read. 13mo
MidnightBookGirl I disliked Cheryl in Wild, which is weird because I had enjoyed her Dear Sugar column). I liked the hiking stuff and the parts about her mom (accept the ashes part, but that had to do more with Cheryl). Read it years ago for book club, but never again. 13mo
Cathythoughts @julesG maybe a special section on the shelf for the “ hibernators “ .... 🤔♥️ 13mo
Itchyfeetreader Excellent pick 13mo
Leniverse @julesG @Cinfhen I like that term. I have hibernators too. I especially tend to hibernate trilogies after book two. ?‍♀️ But the main hibernating book preying on my mind is "The Second Sex". I read part one a couple of years ago. I plan on revisiting it this year, quickly repeat pt. 1 and finally read pt 2! 13mo
LauraBeth I know exactly what you mean @cinfhen. And I love the term “hibernators” @julesG and having a special shelf for them @Cathythoughts. There are many times I stop reading a book and I wouldn‘t qualify it as a bail because I can recognize that the book is good but the timing is all-wrong for me. So I keep it and it goes into hibernation until there‘s a “spring” for it. 😀 13mo
julesG @Cathythoughts I have a Goodreads shelf for hibernating books. I don't dare to give up physical shelf space to books in hibernation, that could take up too much room too fast. I'd be tempted to put aside books just because I'm a true Aries and like to start new things, but am not so good at finishing. 13mo
julesG @Leniverse "Third book in a trilogy hibernation" is a thing, right? Even my son does it. His reason is solid: once I read the third book, the story ends. Relatable! #raisingreaders 13mo
Leniverse @julesG True! I have a couple of last books in longer series that I hibernate for that reason! But my trilogy hibernations are more often a case of reading the first two back to back and deciding I needed a break, or reading them before book three came out and later buying book three but not reading it. It feels unfinished in a negative way, but your son's way is positive - lingering in the story longer. 💖 13mo
Cinfhen It‘s so true @LauraBeth certain books just need the right season & conditions for them to flourish @Leniverse that‘s why I hate starting a new series, I know it‘s going to become a long & complicated relationship 😂😂 13mo
Cathythoughts @julesG I‘m Aries too 👍🏻♥️♥️😉 13mo
DivineDiana Good luck! I made that a goal last year, and will continue this year! Although I did complete a few, there are more waiting for me to finish! 😉👍🏻😘 13mo
TheLudicReader She irritated the crap out of me. 13mo
Cinfhen Glad I‘m not the only one @TheLudicReader @MidnightBookGirl 13mo
emilyhaldi I hate when I make it that far in a book and just. Cannot. Finish. 😣 13mo
vivastory After reading this wonderful thread I feel Litsy is grossly underserved by not having a hibernating button! 13mo
Cinfhen Litsy needs a bit of an overhaul @vivastory and I agree...a little bear icon would be perfect 13mo
Cathythoughts @Cinfhen A bear icon 🐻.... 👍🏻♥️♥️♥️ I don‘t know if I could cope with the adorableness 13mo
Cinfhen Right!!?!? @Cathythoughts 13mo
GlassAsDiamonds Oh man... when she threw that other shoe....🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ I actually yelled at the book and annoyed Puff - no one does miffed annoyance like a disturbed cat! 😂🤦🏻‍♀️😂 It is worth finishing and I liked it again in the end but in that space, I admit, I enjoyed the tagged far more! 13mo
Cinfhen I was ready to strangle her @GlassAsDiamonds ONLY a spoiled 2yr old acts that way. Your tagged book sounds good 13mo
Cinfhen I‘ve always meant to read his travelogues ( Bill Bryson) 13mo
GlassAsDiamonds @Cinfhen Exactly! (Mind you, the only 2yr old I know figured out yesterday that if he stood in front of their air purifier and farted, the machine sensor would flash red. There was a lot of farting going on 🤦🏻‍♀️😂🤦🏻‍♀️). Do finish & her non-fiction is much better. I find Bryson hysterical (but didn‘t like At Home, go figure!). His Oz one is a little old now but spectacularly on point & so funny in places that I laugh out loud each time! 13mo

A Christmas Carol | Charles Dickens
post image

After watching this movie with the kids I have a really strong urge to read A Christmas Carol. #IveNeverRead #AChristmasCarol #Confession #DontHateMe #MyLoveForClassicsIsNew

Melissa_J I‘ve never read it either 🤫 14mo
DGRachel I love A Christmas Carol! I reread it in some format, whether print, ebook, or audiobook every December. 😍 Oh, and I watch both A Muppets‘ Christmas Carol and Mickey‘s Christmas Carol, because they are my favorite versions. 14mo
Literary_Siren @Melissa_J I‘m glad I‘m not alone! I‘ve actually never read any of his books. 🤭 14mo

Literary_Siren @DGRachel I definitely plan on reading it at some point before Christmas. Maybe after I put the tree up. 😂 I‘m very Scrooge-like around this time of year. 14mo
JamieLou The first time I read A Christmas Carol was last year! 14mo
GingerAntics I haven‘t read it before, either. I‘ve only seen several productions of it. 14mo
JacqMac I‘m watching that now. It‘s very good. I just might have to read it now, too. 14mo
CoffeeNBooks I'd never read A Christmas Carol either, so I just started it yesterday. It's short, and a quick read. I'm enjoying it so far. 14mo
Jess_Franzino I‘m reading “The Man Who Invented Christmas” right now. I‘m absolutely obsessed with Charles Dickens. Will have to watch the movie after I finish the book. (edited) 14mo
Jess_Franzino @Birdsong28 Thanks for the suggestion! I‘ll add it to my TBR ♥️ 14mo

Emma (Revised) | Jane Austen
post image

#UnpopularOpinion time, but seriously Knightley, Emma #sheaintworthit. 🙄 I don‘t care how much she redeems herself in the end, Emma is my least favourite Austen heroine, and Knightley could have done so much better!

jenniferw88 I totally agree! 2y
saresmoore She really is the least redeemable. 2y
obviateit She‘s my least favorite too. 2y

Reviewsbylola Lolol I love the book but I don‘t disagree with you! 2y
Pamwurtzler I agree! 2y
benchley1 I don't care for Emma, but I dislike Fanny more. Fanny is an L7 weiner 2y
raeintheworld @benchley1 I totally agree: Fanny is the absolute worst. 2y
BarbaraBB She is my un-favorite too! 2y
batsy I know right, I can't get over the fact that my book boyfriend chose Emma 😂 2y
Cinfhen Ok, #confession...I haven‘t read Emma 😞🤫 2y
Kalalalatja @jenniferw88 @saresmoore @obviateit @Pamwurtzler @BarbaraBB I knew there had to be some fellow Emma-haters out there 👏👏 @Reviewsbylola she is just too annoying 🙄 @benchley1 @raeintheworld I like Fanny, but I can see why others don‘t. To me, she‘s still less annoying than Emma 😄 @batsy HA! It really makes you doubt if he‘s completely right in the head 😂 @Cinfhen I‘m not gonna give you hate for not reading it 😄😄 2y

Enjoying reading Chad Van Dixhoorn's commentary on the Westminster Confession of Faith, aptly titled “Confessing the Faith”. This is an excellent in-depth analysis of the classic/timeless 17th century doctrinal statement by which the Presbyterian Church is governed.
