My big “retro” project is done! I loved this movie as a kid (and still very much do) so this month‘s theme was a perfect excuse to stitch this pattern. And now, I can find another retro pattern to do! 😊

I love these behind-the-scenes looks at my favorite musicals. This one doesn‘t explore the lyrics as much as other librettos, but it has some amazing photos in it.

Every time she mentioned a scene or some dialogue or a song, I was able to easily picture it in my head. So it was fun to learn of so much that happened behind the scenes. At 21, but playing one of the children, Charmian was sort of between the adult and child actors on the set. She was primarily very positive with things she said about the people and the making of the movie. But there were a few little things. Cont in comments...

LibraryCin But I really think she is sincere in how much making the movie meant to her. So I did learn a few things about Christopher Plummer (Chris) and Julie Andrews, as well. There was a chapter near the end that told more of the actual von Trapp family and their real story, since so much of the movie was fictionalized; that was very interesting.

This was a good book, I had to read it for my musical theatre history class but I enjoyed the beginning and end that focused on how the American musical has evolved and where it‘s going

#fearfullfall playlist 1 of 2! We're having an autumn/Halloween party tonight, but with a different playlist so thought I'd share both - this is the one I created for the buddy read! @Cinfhen @BarbaraBB

Don't mind me, just weeping in spite of myself. Sondheim, you mad bastard; thank you. #SeeMoreTheatre

Ruthiella What‘s your favorite Sondheim? I‘ve not seen/heard them all, but I think Company is my No. 1. 4mo
Andrea313 @Ruthiella Such a hard question! My favorite is probably Assassins, followed VERY closely by Sunday. But Into the Woods and Sweeney are also high on the list; it honestly feels impossible to choose! 4mo
Ruthiella It‘s a totally unfair question! 😂 Assassins is maybe my second favorite and I‘ve never heard or seen Sunday in the Park with George…but I think I‘d start with Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters. 4mo
