I will be thinking about this one for a long time. Washington‘s previous success with short stories shines through in the style of this book. It was so insightful and packed a punch, but to the extent that I feel ill need to read it multiple times to get the true impact. #botm #botmbacklogchallenge

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2 I had a few false starts with this book but once I got going I couldn't put it down and I read it straight through. Such a heartbreaking story. Some of the coincidences in the plot line seemed a bit much but the story is so beautiful they are easy to forgive.

mrp27 @Cinfhen I was working at a bookstore when this first came out and because it was so popular I refused to read it then, I was so sick of it! But I'm with you, I'm a one and done kind of girl. Hard to recapture the first time experience in a reread. 6y

vivastory Thanks for the tag @britt_brooke ! Palahniuk can be hit & miss with me, but my favorites are: Lullaby, Survivor & Rant. I also liked Haunted, but am always a bit reluctant to recommend it as there's a couple of really gross stories in it. @Megabooks 6y
