Had so much during Litsy spooky time with all the marathons. I read 4 books, one of them was witchy, 2 comics, 1 children‘s picture book, and 1 middle grade fiction with over 32 hours of reading time for the month. I didn‘t reach my lofty goal of 6 books, but I got 1 book read that‘s been on my shelf for awhile, 1 book read for book club, & took a big bite out of Harry Potter & the Order of the Phoenix. I read enough of an ARC to write a review, & enjoyed an essay related to an art exhibit seen this month. +2 new authors to 🧡!

pickI was finally able to fill one of the more difficult #52bookclub categories, “Author debut in second half of 2024.“ I've read a number of novels by Andrew Pyper, but this is his debut under the pseudonym Mason Coile.
This short novel is a spooky haunted house story featuring AI “monsters“. I didn't enjoy it as much as the other Pyper works I've read, but as it was set on Hallowe'en day, it was a good one to read this week.
pickA low pick. Inspired by Le Fanu's Carmilla, this graphic novel set in 1990's NYC features mysterious deaths, vampires and Chinese folklore. It was a good quick read for Hallowe'en night.

pickLast book I finished in October. This was a fantasy romance novel where every year a witch is collected from each village to protect the realm. The village is attacked and set ablaze so they go off on a journey to get to the king. A lot happens on the journey. I believe this is the first in the series.

Had so much fun with #HauntedShelf this month, especially with these four month-long readathons!! I had set a goal of averaging 210pgs/day for the #Spookoween readathon and ended up at 216pg average, so I was pretty stoked!! I completed 24 books/short stories, so not quite 31 but close!!! This also means 24 Pumpkaboos captured (8 short, 8 medium, 6 large, 2 super!!). And finally I also captured 8 Pokemon for the #SpookyEdition challenge.
pickFifteen years ago, Emma's three cabinmates at summer camp disappeared in the night without a trace. Em is still haunted by that event. When the camp's owner decides to reopen the camp, she invites Em to come as an art instructor and Emma agrees, wondering if this could bring her the closure she needs. But of course instead things get really scary haha As with the other Sager books I've read, when I got done I still had a few questions, but ⬇
