pickFinished this one over the weekend. Different than anything I‘ve read, a very interesting look at how people cope with a threat they can‘t see or understand. The pivotal scene was a little too over-the-top and unfortunately crossed the line from “terrifying” to “camp”, but overall the horror was well presented. The pacing of the story as it alternated between present and past was well done and kept the mood tense.
so-soUghhhh! I‘m so upset. I was about 20% in and was going to bail (I wasn‘t feeling the story). And then I was like, oh I‘ll just keep going because I want my HEA. WELL! This book does not end in a HEA! But I don‘t think I care enough to read the next book in the series. 🤷🏻♀️ I‘m conflicted.

so-soI'm enjoying reading a story every day from Dark Tales, and the Mary Stewart buddy read is going as delightfully as I hoped, but the tagged book was a dud. I actually really liked the sciencey bio-informatics bits but the professor MC is insufferable. I kept yelling at the book as he always made the absolute worst decisions possible 😭💀
